The bird is a pheasant, an emblem of beauty and good fortune, and is depicted on the rank badge of second-level Qing dynasty officials.Marked in the upper left. 4-character mark in old seal style reads 乾陵年制 “made in Qianlong (period)” (1736-1795. Qing 清Dynasty). Reign marks are often used in replicating styles of earlier periods and in the absence of evidence to the contrary should not be taken as indicating the date of production.Sight: 11 1/2 x 8 1/2 in.
