Large pair of 19th Century Chinese blue and white porcelain baluster jars and covers, each domed cover surmounted by a Dog of Fo finial, figures and butterfly, the bodies with stiff leaf decoration over a tightrope walker, acrobat, and other figures, unmarked, 46.5cm high. A garniture of five vases of similar design from the Van Herck collection, Antwerp, was sold at auction in Bruges 23rd April 2016 lot 215 Condition: One cover has a 1cm flake chip and smaller loss to underside of cover, other cover has a 3cm wide x 1cm deep rim loss, plus a firing crack beneath. Minor rim flaking/fritting, a few kiln inclusions and iron marks but bodies otherwise sound. **General condition consistent with age
19th Century Chinese blue and white porcelain baluster jar and cover, the latter of domed form with ovoid finial, the former of squat baluster outline with four panels of perching and flying birds within lappet borders, pseudo four character mark beneath, 41cm high Condition: Cover is generally of a paler blue and looser 'decoration' but has matching lappet border is presumed to be original. Tip loss of firing flaw to finial of cover, otherwise general fritting to rim of cover plus and old flake chip. Body is of dark blue and som-what finer decoration, a few glaze inclusions and pops but overall sound. **General condition consistent with age
