Munger, European Porcelain in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (2018), p. 65 and n. 11The form is based on a Chinese, Kangxi, example of the early 18th century (fig. 1, published by Munger, op. cit., p. 65, fig. 29).Only three other examples of this form with Meissen polychrome chinoiserie decoration are recorded, all in museum collections, and the present lot is the only one with fully gilt handle and spout: one is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (formerly in the Walter von Pannwitz Collection), published by Munger, op. cit., no. 16; another is in the Gardiner Museum, Toronto (inv. no. Soreau, zug., Isaak Soreau, zug., Isaak Soreau, zug., Isaak 1604 Hanau - um 1640 Früchtestillleben mit chinesischen Porzellanschalen Öl auf Holz (leicht gewölbt). 49 x 64 cm. Provenienz: Bonhams, London, 07. Juli 2004, Lot 73.
