A Pair of Chinese Porcelain Vases, circa 1890, of cylindrical form, with leiwen pattern to the borders of the cupped rims, the main bodies painted with extensive battle scenes in bright Canton enamels, with a floral border to the base punctuated by cartouches of crabs and butterflies, 46cm high One chipped, piece glued back and small crack emanating from the chip. Otherwise, apart from some flaking to the enamels the pieces are in reasonable overall condition. 050313

A pair of large early 20th century Chinese porcelain baluster shaped vases decorated with dragons, butterflies, flowers and foliage on a celadon ground CONDITION REPORTS There are no marks to basses. Height approx. 62 cm each. Both in damaged condition and with re-gluing, filler and over-painting. One vase with extensive breaks and damage to whole of body with re-gluing and some losses and several chunks to rim missing and fillered and over-painted. Other vase with chunks missing to foot rim. Both vases with handles broken off and missing, and the area where the handles were has been over-painted. Both with cracks. Vase which has a large amount of damage to sides also has some old rivet repairs. Both vases with wear and scuffs and some chips.
