A large blue and white vase with unglazed base, decorated with a continuous design of sailing vessels in a mountainous, river landscape with buildings and retreats, about 61cm high; the neck with Yongzheng underglaze blue six-character mark, but not of the period, and post Qing dynasty. The original version of this shape and size is known from the reign of The Yongzheng Emperor; for a version in famille rose enamels, see 'Later Chinese Porcelain' by Soame Jenyns [Plate XC].
