A set of twenty-four export porcelain tiles. Each painted with a scene relating to Chinese porcelain manufacture and export, comprising: digging clay, collecting clay, braking clay, purifying clay, refining clay, combining packing, tubs of finished porcelain, making raw clay vessels, making body, shaping bodies bottom edge, shaping bodies mouth edge, glazing and underglaze painting, filling kiln, shutting kiln, firing, opening kiln, overglaze painting and refining pigment, heating in oven, reheating, packing labelling distributing tubs of finished porcelain, porcelain market, porcelain customers and give a play at the factory, each titles in Chinese and English and numbered 1 to 24. Each 23 x 23 cm.Note: The present tiles may have taken inspiration from a group of Chinese watercolours, circa 1800, from the collection of J Kenneth Danby, now at the Winterthur Museum of Wilmington Delaware, which illustrates the process of porcelain production.

Some typical minor surface wear and staining.The cover sits rim to rim rather than inside the bowl like would be seen with a Chinese original, also the pattern on the bowl is heavily blurred contrasting with the well painted and fired cover, the pieces therefore could be a marriage.
