Late 18th to early 19th century Chinese blue and white porcelain baluster vase. Decorated with floral motifs interspersed with cartouches depicting figures. The underside with a four character mark.Height: 17 in x diameter: 9 in.Condition:There are no major chips or cracks. There are small losses around the exterior rim of the lid and the finial. There is repair to the edge of the lid, measuring approximately 4 inches wide; there are three metal 'staples' along the repair. There are firing flaws throughout the body. There is wear to the footrim, top rim, and lid, as expected from age and use. There are no restorations under UV light.
Small Chinese famille rose porcelain cup or bowl. The exterior painted with a scene of a monkey next to a tree and a lingzhi mushroom. With a hand-painted six character mark along the underside.Height: 1 1/2 in x diameter: 2 3/4 in.Condition:There are no major chips; there are a few fleabite chips to the top rim, only noticeable upon touch. There are minor losses to the gilt along the top rim. There are two hairline cracks along the interior, likely just to the glaze as they do not extend through to the exterior of the cup. There is wear and losses throughout, in particular along the footrim, consistent with age and use.
19th century Chinese famille rose porcelain planter. A jardiniere cache pot depicting a Lohan and other figures among rocks, and two figures referencing a classical Chinese story. Similar to some straits Chinese palette works in the Peranakan ware. From the Tongxi period.Height: 14 in x diameter: 16 in.Condition:There are several large cracks along the exterior of the planter, several of which intersect at one point, as a product of being broken into multiple pieces. Evidence of enamel loss along cracks as a result of restoration. There is minor chipping along the exterior rim as well as scratches and minor imperfections throughout the mid- to upper area of the planter. There is also evidence of glaze flaking. Towards the bottom third of the interior of planter, there is no glaze at all and significant wear.

Decorated in green and red with scrolling floral and foliate motifs.Height: 4 1/2 in x diameter: 5 1/4 in.Condition:There is one small chip along the upper rim. Some fading to the pigment throughout. Areas with crazing to the clear overglaze. A few small chips along the footrim. Light wear throughout as expected with age and use.
Group of five antique 20th-century Chinese porcelain objects including two ginger jars, a small baluster vase, a small vase with a wooden stand, and a small teapot.Height ranges from 2 1/4 in to 5 3/4 in; width ranges from 1 3/4 in to 5 in; depth ranges from 1 3/4 in to 4 3/4 in.Condition:The small baluster vase with a crack along the side along the back. The blue ginger jar's lid with two cracks which have been repaired; there is a cork stuck in the opening and the inside of the jar cannot be examined. No other notable repairs to the other items. Light wear to all pieces.
Chinese robin's egg blue porcelain lantern vase, ca. 20th century. Of ovoid form with a short, slightly waisted neck on a short ring foot. With molded vase form handles along either side. With a mottled glaze ranging from pale blue to turquoise. With an impressed six-character mark along the underside.Height: 7 3/4 in x width: 4 1/2 in x depth: 2 1/2 in.Condition:No major losses or chips. There is a minute crack along the top of one of the shoulders. There are minute firing flaws throughout. There is wear to the footrim, as expected from age and use.

Decorate throughout with profuse foliate scrollwork with blooming flowers.Height: 18 in x diameter: 9 in.Condition:There are no visible cracks. There are numerous chips and losses throughout the outer rim of the lid; there is a chip to the tip of the knop. There is wear throughout consistent with age in use, in particular along the footrim, the top rim, and underneath the lid. No visible signs of restoration under UV light.

(8)The Vandekar family established their internationally renowned antiques dealership in Amsterdam before moving to London in 1916. They specialized in the decorative arts of the 17th-20th century with a particular interest in 18th-19th century European and Chinese ceramics. In the 1970s and 80s, Michael Beard worked as a ceramics expert in the London showroom of Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge, travelling internationally to trade shows and antiques fairs, and helping with the launch of the New York branch of Vandekar in 1982. There is no surprise that he leaves in his estate some beautiful examples of porcelain, ceramics, and objets d’art. When Michael retired to Cornwall around 1988 he settled at first in St Ives, where he became a prominent patron of the arts and a devoted member of the Old Cornwall Society. Nine Chinese famille rose porcelain items, 18th century. To include four dishes, two cups, a tea bowl, vase and cream jug, height 9cm. (9) Maurice Jenkins (1933-2022). North Cornwall collector. Maurice was a lifetime collector and started in the 1950s. He opened a shop in Liskeard in the 1970s called Canon Hill Antiques. He visited a number of Middle Eastern countries in his lifetime including Egypt in the late 1970's when his interest in Islamic and Asian antiques began. He was a man with an eye for quality and a love of antiques, history and travel who purchased privately and at auction over the decades. Over a lifetime of purchasing privately and at auction, he created an eclectic ensemble of collections reflecting his interests. He died a few weeks before his 90th birthday and was still buying until that time.

(3)Soapstone seal has chips on base and to body, the head of the figure removes, there are no chips or cracks. The vase is in good overall condition.

The lustre glaze repousse decorated in gilt with dragons chasing the flaming pearl,, the cover surmounted by a dragon amongst clouds, on three splay feet, with a pair of mask ring handles, height 14.5cm, width 16cm, on a carved wood stand with three splay feet, height 4cm, width 12.5cm. (2)Provenance: The Michael J. Hickman Collection. Bought in Cornwall from the early 1970's to early 1980's.top of finial broken off but we have the piece. Item has been in half and repaired.
A Chinese porcelain snuff bottle, Qing Dynasty, 19th century. Height 5.5cm, width 2.5cm.The vendor inherited the collection from his father in 2015. The vendors father inherited the collection in the late 1950's from his Aunt Blanche Gertrude Ealand who preferred to be known as Heather and was born in 1903. She was best friends with the famous artist Dame Laura Knight and there is a well known painting showing Blanche dressed in her hunting and fishing attire and holding a shotgun. (5)Ginbari vase is lacking base and has a large section missing on the body.

Each of octagonal form, the central famille rose panel depicting a fenced garden scene with figures, ducks and pagoda within a blue and white floral and butterfly border, 21 x 29cm and 17 x 25cm. (5) One small dish has a short hairline, two of the larger dishes each have a chip.

One dish has a rim hairline crack. The other has two rim chips.

(5)The blue and white teacup has some fine body cracks. It has an unglazed rim so could have had chips ground out. The other teacup has a slight glaze chip to the rim, wear to enamels and gilding.
