A collection of Chinese Nanking blue and white export porcelain, Circa 1780 Comprising an octagonal serving platter and a pair of soup plates, all with scalloped rim, typically painted in rich cobalt tones, with depictions of formal fenced gardens and pagodas, set with diaper work and lotus flower borders, platter 23cm long, plates 22cm diam. (3) CONDITION REPORT: Platter - small nibbles to the exterior rim, scratching visible throughout, small areas of glaze loss at rim Dish One - small chips to footrim, small thumbnail chip to upper rim, glaze losses to rim Dish Two - a third of the dish has previously been broken and unprofessionally restored, small glaze chips, nibbles to the rim.

Stand with riveted cracks and rim chips. Both sauce tureen covers with extensive loss to foliate knops and tiny chips to handles. One stand broken in half and repaired. Sauceboat with hairline crack to handle and chip to spout. One large meat platter with rim chips. One medium platter with large rim chip. Two platters broken in half and restuck. Small platter with several rim chips. Both salts with rim chips. Eight plates repaired, one with large rim chip. Eight soup plates with riveted repairs, one with section of rim missing and filled. A pair of Chinese famille verte porcelain panels, decorated a pagoda overlooking a river with a log barge and other vessels, and a mountainous scene with a shrine, 29 x 47.5 cm, in wooden frames, 49.5 x 65.5 cm, See illustrations Provenance: Given to the vendors as a present approximately 30 years, having already been in the Chinese father-in-laws own collection for some years Condition report Report by RB Panel 1: (two pairs of fishermen and boats), - signed, very heavy vertical scratch which is quite possibly a crack of approx. 6 cm to the top right hand corner, going straight up from the tree. Also a deepish scratch of approx. 1 cm to the lower right hand quadrant, and a sctach of apporx. 2.5 cm to the large right hand tree. There is also a glaze abrasion chip to the bottom right hand corner, mostly under the frame, but slightly visible by the signature. The frame with some knocks. Panel 2: (wall with circular gate in it), - signed, although it has clearly been this frame for a long period of time, there is a border around the image of white glaze until it meets the wooden frame. Overall there are some scratches, and a few minor firing faults. Panels are slightly uneven from firing. Framed to match with some knocks and scratches.

Firing faults include pitting, pock marks and discolouration. Some other surface scratches. Base unglazed. A couple of underglaze nibbles around the rim. Very grubby.
