Fine 18th century Chinese export porcelain armorial charger circa 1738, with painted central Ross Family Coat of Arms, with motto - 'Nobilis Est Ira Leonis' within fine diaper and ribbon band and finely enamelled floral borders, 35.5cm diameter. Reference - Howard E5. page 243. This service believed to have been made for Captain Charles Ross M.P. (1721 - 1745), who inherited Balnagown Castle from his uncle, became a Captain in 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards and elected M.P. for Ross-shire in 1741. He was killed in action at the Battle of Fontenoy in 1745 CONDITION REPORT Good original condition. Chips to front rim at around 6 o'clock and another on back rim. Some stacking wear to glaze and minor enamel wear - enamels bright overall

A Chinese famille rose porcelain bowl with four character Qianlong mark (1736-95) and of the period, turquoise interior, exterior rim with polychrome Greek key motif on yellow ground, flowering peonies and dragon design on turquoise ground to body, on raised circular foot, 9½in. (24.2cm.) diameter. Condition: Outside of bowl in fine condition very slight enamel loss which is barely noticable. Inside of bowl has multiple heavy paint flaking, mainly around the upper edge.
Three Chinese Tek Sing shallow bowls 19th century, blue and white Lotus Lingzhi and spiral pattern, 6in. (15.3cm.) diameter. (3) * The Tek Sing (Chinese, 'True Star') was a large three-masted Chinese ocean-going junk which sank on February 6, 1822. On May 12, 1999, British marine salvor Michael Hatcher discovered the wreck of the Tek Sing in an area of the South China Sea north of Java, east of Sumatra and south of Singapore. His crew raised about 350,000 pieces of the ship's cargo in what is described as the largest sunken cache of Chinese porcelain ever recovered. Condition: 7mm chip to rim of one bowl also severe scratching to face, 4mm chip to rim of one bowl and a 3mm firing inclusion, 4mm firing inclusion to face of one of the bowls, 7mm flake to rim interior.
