A beautiful pair of Chinese 'European subject' Meissen-style tea bowls and saucers, Qianlong (1736-1795), each of tapered form rising from a low footring, both resting on a shallow welled saucer, depicting scenes of shooting and hunting amidst European landscapes, enamelled in the delicate Meissen manner, tea bowl 4.5cm high, saucer 11cm diameter NB: During the 1750s China began to explore techniques and styles used and manufacturers in European porcelain factories, these tea bowls have been produced in the mid Qianlong dynasty using styles implemented by the Meissen factory in 1730s and 40s, for similar examples see Geoffrey A Godden 'Oriental export market porcelain', page 229 plate 145
