A 19th century Chinese Canton porcelain charger: hand decorated in famille rose palette with a central court scene within open outbuildings, surrounded by a border interestingly decorated with precious objects, deer (lu), peony, leopards fighting, butterflies, bats, qilin and a four-clawed dragon (37.35cm diameter)Condition Report: The item has come privately and is good general overall condition. There are some notable rubbing to the gilt on the edge and some minor surface scratches to the top of the plates commensurate with age etc. The underside appears in generally good order, it is noted that there is what appears to be a small 'star crack' visible from the underside but may only be to the glazing as it is viewable from the underside of the base but not from the top of the charger.

A good set of twelve 18th century Chinese porcelain plates: flowerhead shaped borders surrounding central decoration of peony and other flowers in famille rose enamels (21.5cm diameter) Condition Report: Some items exhibit minor rim fritting and some minor 'chips' to the underside of the plate on the foot (unglazed section, orange iron oxide showing). The 1st plate has a thumbnail-sized chip away from the edge visible from the underside, another plate exhibits some minor matchhead-sized chip away from the edge visible from the top. The colours/enamels are generally good. One dish has a firing crack visible to the underside. Some plates exhibit very minor 'bubbles' where the glaze has blistered during the firing process. Having inspected each plate singly the Auctioneer reports very good overall condition with 'no' major problems.
A large late 19th / early 20th century Chinese porcelain vase; the neck with flaring rim above a ruyi head border, the vase with two 'double' opposing dogs of Foo (lion dogs, temple guardians) handles, each side with a turquoise ground and a lilac ground, applied Chilong dragon and further over two shaped reserves decorated in famille rose enamels with a musician group before mountains and two figures, one with an open-winged tethered stork, the second panel similarly decorated with figures before mountains and two oncoming figures about to light a firework placed upon rockwork and each with hands covering their ears, the main burnt-orange ground decorated with chrysanthemums, a peony and various other flowers in low relief, the base with lappet border in Ming style, the underside of the base with red six-character seal mark (63cm highest)
A 19th century Chinese Canton porcelain vase-and-cover of baluster form, the dome-shaped cover mounted with a 'lion dog' finial above the main body, typically painted in famille rose enamels, panels with figures, birds and butterflies. Together with a smaller similarly decorated vase, the waisted neck with a long gilded Chilong dragon. (The former 26cm including cover.) (2)Condition Report: The smaller of the two vases in this lot has a double matchhead-sized chip away from the rim, visible inside and a corresponding sharp approx. 0.5cm section away to the outside of the rim. The underside of the foot looks quire dirty commensurate with age, the rest of the vase appears in generally reasonable order although one other matchhead sized chip is away and visible from the top of the vase lip. The larger vase with the cover has some discolouration to the outside of the neck, also some further blemishes/discolouration (could be cleaned) otherwise in good condition. The 'lion dog' finial has come away at some stage and been re-affixed.
A cased Chinese porcelain hors d'oeuvres set: the central concave sided piece surrounded by four fan-shaped dishes and four further spandrel dishes, each piece finely decorated in famille rose enamels with figures and animals including the three legged toad before a cache of coins, all dishes with Greek key-fret-style border and gilded rims, rosewood cased (The rosewood case 30.5cm square x 8cm high)Condition Report: The box is a little loose around the edges of the corners. The porcelain and the ceramics look to be in very good overall condition with no cracks, chips or restoration noted. Some natural firing cracks and minor scratches commensurate with usage and discolouration to the unglazed undersides.
A 214-piece Mottahedeh 'Blue Canton' pattern porcelain dinner and breakfast service in 18th century Chinese style: 40 x 26cm, 22 x 22cm and 23 x 18 cm plates; 6 x 38.5cm , 4 x 35cm and 4 x 33cm (circular) platters; 23 x 25cm soup dishes and 11 x 17cm bowls; 2 teapots, 2 milk jugs and 2 sugar bowls, 6 teacups and saucers; 10 coffee cups and saucers; 11 x 24cm and 11 x 26.5cm vegetable dishes; 2 x 37cm and 3 x 25.5cm lidded tureens; 4 x 34cm oval dishes and 4 sauce boats. (Spares comprising 7 saucers and 1 tureen lid.) (Chips noted to 1 x 38.5cm platter, 4 x 22cm plates, small chips to 2 x 18 cm plates) Condition Report: The service is not in 100% perfect condition, it appears to be very little used and as such is in overall good condition and some pieces may not have been used at all (no scratches or wear visible to plate or bowl surfaces). It has come from a large Country House estate clearance (featuring also lot 38 and 47) Small circular plates - minor chips to the edges of several (approx. 5-10 plates). A late 19th / early 20th century hand-decorated Chinese porcelain model of a Karashishi (lion dog / temple guardian) and cub, recumbent and with open mouth displaying teeth and tongue (with restorations) (20cm high x 13.5cm highest)Condition Report: Facing the item - the left ear has been restored and repainted to an approx. 6cm level. A small section of the cub's left-hand ear at the bottom is cracked within the firing process, it also appears that the cub's back right foot has been restored and repainted.

Four Chinese blue and white porcelain bowls, ca. 17th-18th c. One matching pair of bowls, profusely decorated along the interior with floral designs and marked along the underside with botanical marks within double rings, typical of the Kangxi period. With one small bowl with calligraphic decoration to the interior, and one larger bowl depicting phoenixes amongst scrolling foliage, heavily restored and with a six character Xuande mark along the underside.Height ranges from 3/4 in to 3 in; diameter ranges from 4 in to 7 1/2 in.
