There is a large area of loss approx. 1cm diameter to the right edge. There are a number of repairs throughout the panel, the most prominent being one to the sitter's left shoulder and one to the sitter's chest where there is associated loss, flaking and protruding blobs of a brown substance, presumably this was applied during the repair process. There is an area of lifting and uneven paint surface to the lower left edge. Significant surface cracks and scratches throughout. Areas of retouching visible in natural light. Inspection under UV reveals retouching throughout, the true extent of which is possible masked by a green cloudy varnish. Condition Report Disclaimer

There is some light surface dirt throughout, rubbing to the framing edges and light stretcher marks visible. There is a surface scratch visible to the lower left edge and some lines of faint scarring to the paint along the lower quadrant, possibly caused by the relining process. There is a slightly uneven paint surface to the upper corners. Ultraviolet light reveals some scattered retouching throughout and traces of a varnish.Condition Report Disclaimer

Some painting issues near the tips of both tail feathers - a production fault (see images). No post production faults visible. No obvious chips, cracks or restorations visible.

The small platter appears to be in good condition with no obvious faults.

A Chinese Famille rose porcelain planter and stand 19th century. The hexagonal section flared body painted with female courtiers in garden pavilions and the borders painted with colourful flowers and fruit. 22 cm wide x 17 cm high overall. Together with a Qianlong Famille rose tea bowl and saucer painted with flowers.Qty: 4Condition report: The planter has a shallow fingernail size chip on one corner. Most panels have enamels missing, particularly on the rockwork. There are three, approx 7cm long, vertical hairline cracks on the interior that do not show through to the exterior. The planter rings out nicely when lightly tapped. The planter stand has three large rim chips and there are enamel losses throughout, some enamels are chipped off whilst others appear to be erased through continual use. Gilding on rims partially rubbed on both pieces. See images for damage.The tea bowl and saucer has some old restoration.

A group of Chinese blue & white porcelain vases, 18th & 19th century, comprising an 18th century miniature vase, painted with a bird upon tree above rockwork and peony14cm, a pair of pagoda landscape vases and covers, a lotus flower and leaf vase, a vase painted with two boys either side of a vase and cover, all with pseudo four character Kangxi marks, and a miniature vase painted with birds, butterflies and flowers, tallest 17cm, smallest 13cmQty: 6 + 2 coversCondition report: The 18th century vase has a 1cm hairline crack on the rim. One of the pair of vases has a cover that has broken in two and glued together, leaving some small rim chips, and one vase has a 2cm long x 2cm deep section broken out of the neck and glued, otherwise in good condition. The other cover has small rim chips and a glaze chip on the temple dog.. The flower & leaf vase has a fine hairline crack issuing from a bruise on the rim continuing almost halfway down the body of the vase, otherwise no further faults. The largest vase has sectional breaks on the neck which have been restored, but the cracks ar visible, the remainder of the vase is in good order. The smallest vase appears to be free from any obvious faults.

A Chinese porcelain blue & white teapot, 18th century, the pointed arched panels finely painted with buildings beside pine trees and within a mountainous landscape, beneath small floral sprigs, the alternating panels later painted with enamelled floral sprigs, with moulded spout & handle, 15.5cmCondition report: The lid has a rim chip and a chip to the tip of the finial. A small chip under the spout lip and a glaze chip to the top of the spout. A circumferal hairline crack around the bottom of the handle.

Lot 162

A set of three Chinese Famille rose porcelain circular, dragon dishes. Qing dynasty. Each painted with an iron red, central panel of a rampaging five claw dragon and pearl within a cloud and fungus ground, surrounded by lotus, citron, peaches, and peony in colours. The rims painted with "Greek Key" borders. Bearing a red six-character mark in script for Guangxu to the bases. And possibly mark and period. 21.1 cm diameter,Condition report: Some fritting and glaze chips to the very tip of the rims on each plate (see images). Two plates have light brown stain patches within the auspicious fruits, light cleaning doesn't remove them.

Plates appear good with minor enamel loss and the trays each with losses to the decoration.

The famille rose vase has a small chip to the underside of the rim and a tiny glaze rim chip. The canton vase has a 3cm x 1cm restored section on the rim exterior, a small section is visible on the top of the rim. A small chip to the glaze just above the foot rim.

Export cream jug in good order. Imari bowl is restored. Bowl and dished saucer both have hairline cracks, the bowl also has a large rim chip. The blue & white teapot has no lid and fritting to the spout and handle. The Shou Lao plate is broken and glued in numerous places. The jar has a hairline crack.

Painted with a group of characters one sage-like figure riding on a tiger one of his companions has a small blue monkey and the other holds aloft a smoking censer with a dragon emanates from the clouds of smoke above.
