Of flattened circular form, rising from a flared foot to a short, waisted neck with lipped rim, flanked by a loop handle and curved spout, the sides decorated in relief with a central stylized flower head enclosed by four cartouches with a dotted ground and four encircled Chinese characters, covered overall in a soft blue-green glaze, the base unglazed.Condition: Overall fair condition with minor wear and a small chip to the foot ring. Comprising a tankard, three cups, and two saucers, each double-walled, the outer wall reticulated and decorated with roundels enclosing flowers and swastika symbols, the handles molded as dragons and painted in green and gilt, the upper rims with gilt vines issuing blossoms, and the interiors painted with floral sprays. The tankard with a hinged cover and dragon finial, painted to the interior with rockwork issuing peonies and chrysanthemums. A RARE 'THREE-LEGGED TOAD' CELADON-GLAZED WATER POT, ANNAM, 15TH-16TH CENTURY 安南十五至十六世紀罕見青釉三足蟾水盂Standing on three legs, the toad gently lifts its head. Its body is decorated with raised warts as well as scroll designs along its spine, its well detailed face has an animated mouth and prominent arched brows. Covered overall with a finely crackled celadon glaze, thinning considerably to the raised sections. The top of the toad's back with a large circular aperture with raised rim.Provenance: From a notable private collection in Bavaria, Germany. Condition: Very good condition with expected old wear and some firing irregularities, minor glaze flaking, fritting and few minuscule chips.Weight: 182.6 g Dimensions: Length 12.8 cmThe three-legged toad represents a popular feng shui charm for prosperity. A PALE CELADON JADE 'DOUBLE BADGER' GROUP, QING DYNASTYChina, Qing dynasty (1644-1912). The recumbent bodies gracefully coiled, each one gently turning its head towards the other's tail and gnawing on it. The translucent stone of a pale celadon tone with few icy inclusions.Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear. Comprising two boxes, the red box with a collection of snuff bottles and medicine bottles, including five blue and white snuff bottles, six multi-colored ceramic and porcelain snuff bottles, two inside-painted glass snuff bottles, six wooden medicine bottles, and eight storage bottles, some with contents. The green box containing two porcelain and two metal snuff bottles, twelve glass medicine bottles, three metal vessels with a screw cap, and four porcelain medicine bottles.Condition: Good condition, some wear, minor losses, nicks, scratches, overall presenting well.Provenance: German private collection. Some of the bottles in the red box belonged to a pharmacy that closed during the 1970s.
