A pair of Chinese porcelain tea bowls; each with flower-head-style serrated edge and decorated with flowers, 17th/18th century (7cm diameter)The Auctioneer states that there is some slight discolouration in the form of brown spots to the glaze. An early 19th century oval English porcelain entrée dish hand gilded and decorated in the Imari palette (26cm wide) together with a similar period boat-shaped English porcelain tureen cover and stand, the cover surmounted with a gilded lion and late 18th century Royal Worcester cup and saucer in loose Chinese style Oval tureen - the gilding is quite worn around the edge of the base of the tureen. The interior of the tureen looks good gilt-wise and painting & decoration wise although there is some glaze crazing to the border around the base section. Turning over there looks like some kiln dirt in the glaze and the oval foot-rim is darker where it is expected to be commensurate with age. Although there are no cracks, chips or restorations the cover of the tureen appears to be in reasonable condition and finial looks undisturbed. The Royal Worcester cup and saucer - the saucer has small kiln grit in the glaze and some minor discolourations. No evidence of hairlines, chips, cracks or restorations noted to the underside. The top section gilding looks fairly good with the decoration looking good to the outside and the centre. The cup looks in good general overall condition, minor markings such as a 3mm mark is noted to the inside of the cup. In the Auctioneer's opinion this is most certainly a firing mark and is not discernible to the outside. The handle looks good and no evidence of cracks, chips or restorations are noted here. The lidded entree dish on stand - the gilding around the border is quite badly rubbed there is a lot of discolouration around the edge of the stand. Gilding is rubbed on the main body of the stand also and there is significant discolouration around the edges to the underside as if the piece had been put into an oven etc. The discolouration follows on the main piece inside. There is a star crack to the base of approx. two inches and a little bit more beyond that. This is visible from the underside and the inside of the main piece. Again, some gilt rubbing and a firing problem where one of the handles affixes to the body there is bubbling of glaze etc. to a one cm square area approx. discolouration the the outside of this circular foot is noted and and as per before certainly the cover with the recumbent lion finial appears reasonable. The lions looks undisturbed and not restored, again gilt rubbing where you would expect it commensurate with age through usage. No chips cracks or restorations noted here although some gilt rubbing etc.
