Chinese Early 19thC - Qing Dynasty - Chven-Lung Blue and White Porcelain Lidded Ginger Jar - circa 1820's. Raised on a superb carved wooden stand. Decorated in Chinese rose pattern to the body of the ginger jar. Size with stand 13.25 inches. Size without stand 9 inches. Excellent all aspects of condition jar and stand.

A 19th century Chinese tall cylindrical vase with flared rim, decorated with two dragons chasing the Flaming Pearl of Wisdom, four-character mark to the base (af), height 32cm, an unusual porcelain teapot in faceted sided form, decorated with floral panels, gilt-heightened, square lid (af, lacking handle), unmarked and six ginger jars of varying ages and sizes. CONDITION REPORT The vase has an old hairline crack which runs the perimeter of the base. The ginger jars have nibbles and cracks and the largest has various hairline cracks but is intact. The teapot is lacking the handle, as stated and there is damage to the spout.

A Sèvres saucer (soucoupe) c.1777, painted to the well with a Chinese figure seated cross-legged on a table beside trees, the border with a wide gilt design of stylized creatures and abstract designs, yellow crowned interlaced Ls mark enclosing AZ over the painter's mark AS probably for Charles-Eloi Asselin, the A possible for Armand jeune, 12.5cm. Cf. Sir Geoffrey de Bellaigue, French Porcelain in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen, vol. II, no.223, pp.843-5, for a detailed research of this pattern, believed to have been designed by Pierre-Louis-Philippe Armand the Younger.
