Lot 13

Three small Chinese Canton enamel cushion shaped boxes and covers, each having figural and foliate decoration and with four character marks to bases. Together with a Chinese porcelain cushion shaped circular paste box decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with figures in a landscape on a cafe ole ground. Unmarked. (4) *** CONDITION REPORT: The larger enamel box has a significant crack to the enamel of the cover. The smaller ones appear good. The porcelain box has minor frits and chips but is basically good.

Three items of Ming style Chinese porcelain items to include a small baluster jar, and another lidded jar, similar, decorated with Wucai polychrome enamel glazes and a similarly decorated baluster shaped tea or wine pot decorated with Dog of Fo in Wucai enamels. (3) *** CONDITION REPORT: Smallest jar has significant rim chips and wear to glazes, larger jar has minor frits and chips, the teapot appearing overall good, some surface wear.

Small Chinese porcelain polychrome decorated figures in landscape bowl with everted rim, a Chinese porcelain cafe au lait glazed octagonal tapering wine cup with underglaze blue mark within concentric circles to base and overall precious object decoration and a further small porcelain polychrome decorated bowl with three character marks to base. (3) *** CONDITION REPORT: The larger bowl has general wear overall to glazes and minor chips to rim, the cafe au lait cup appears in good condition and the small bowl likewise, overall wear to glazes, no obvious damage.

(4) CONDITION REPORT: Teapot appearing in good condition, minor frits to spout, other items showing minor surface wear only.

Three similar Chinese porcelain famille rose prunus design porcelain bowls with red seal marks and character decoration in Republic style. (3) *** CONDITION REPORT: One small bowl has a minor rim chip, others are basically good, minor glaze imperfections and surface wear.

Chinese porcelain red enamel decorated bowl and cover with external bat designs and square seal marks, together with two small Chinese porcelain double gourd vases, one with painted red character marks and a reverse painted glass, large snuff bottle. (4) *** CONDITION REPORT: The large snuff bottle has significant rim chip and is rather grubby. Bowl and cover appearing good, as are two vases with minor surface wear and blemishes only.

Four similar Chinese porcelain blue and white decorated, floral, baluster shaped vases in Ming style. (4) *** CONDITION REPORT: One has a noticeable firing crack to the rim, another has a hair crack to rim, most have minor frits and tiny glaze chips.

Chinese porcelain Guan glazed water pot moulded in the shape of a curled fish. Unmarked in the manner of the Song Dynasty. 6.5cm approx. *** CONDITION REPORT: Overall glazing is crazed with some imperfections and blemishes. No obvious restoration.

Chinese porcelain "Tiger skin" glaze baluster water pot. Unmarked. 8cm high. *** CONDITION REPORT: Evident hair cracks to rim. Significant star crack to base. General surface wear.

A group of small Chinese underglaze blue and white decorated porcelain items to include two similar baluster shaped vases with overall floral decoration, a small baluster shaped water pot painted with carp amongst sea weed, together with a Japanese porcelain square shaped miniature stand with foliate decoration. (4) *** CONDITION REPORT: Both the vases have damage and restoration. The little water pot has minor wear but no obvious damage and the small stand likewise - no damage.

Chinese egg shell porcelain globular water pot overall decorated with floral designs on a famille rose ground, and having four character Qian Long Nian Hao to base. *** CONDITION REPORT: Tiny repaired hair cracks to rim.

Provincial Chinese porcelain underglaze blue decorated bowl, decorated overall with flower heads and trailing designs. "Chop" painted mark to base. 20cm diameter approx. *** CONDITION REPORT: Overall glaze imperfections. Fritting and minor chips to the rim. No restoration noted.

A Chinese Song style porcelain relief decorated globular jar with four loop mounts. 9cm high. *** CONDITION REPORT: Very grubby. One of the loop mounts is missing. Evident star crack and other wear to the surface of the body.

Four small Chinese porcelain bowls decorated overall in black, red and poly chrome enamels with "Buddha's hand" designs, precious objects and scrolling flowers and foliage. Gilded highlights and six character underglaze blue Yong Zeng imperian Nian Hao mark to base within two concentric circles. (4) Largest bowl 8.5cm diameter. *** CONDITION REPORT: All have tiny frits and chips. One small bowl has a more significant hair crack.

Chinese "Batavian" ware tea pot with reserve underglaze blue decorated fan shaped panel. Unmarked. Together with a probably unrelated tea diffuser in porcelain and metal. Tea pot 9cm high approx. *** CONDITION REPORT: Tiny chip to end of spout, otherwise no obvious damage.

Chinese porcelain Celadon glazed baluster shaped bottle vase with overall poly chrome enameled foliate decoration. concentric underglaze double blue circle to base. 36cm high. CONDITION REPORT: Appears to have been ground down at the neck, otherwise no obvious damage or restoration. Minor firing cracks around the base.

(4) *** CONDITION REPORT: The ewer is lacking its cover and has minor chips and glaze blemishes. The ovoid shaped vase has restoration to its neck. No other damage noted, rather grubby.

Lowestoft teapot - spout fully restored and discoloured, cover with minor chips to flower head finial and large loss to one leaf, polychrome decoration generally good, little handling wear.
