CONDITION REPORT: The plaque is in good order throughout with no obvious faults visible. The frame is in good order with no obvious faults visible.
A pair of Chinese porcelain dished plates, Republic period, decorated and underglaze blue with Ruyi shaped clouds and with six red bats with black enamel eyes, the underside with four underglazed bats and with six character mark for Jiangxi Ciye Gongsi within a double blue circle border. 18.3 cm diameter (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The dishes are in very good order with no obvious faults, cracks, chips, flaws or restorations.
A Chinese porcelain baluster vase, Republic period, painted en-grisaille, with a continuous snow scene in iron red, depicting a figure and child on a snowy path with prunus and pine tree, a dwelling and mountains beyond, the reverse with a figure on a lake beneath a poem, with seal marks and with intricate lotus flower, cell and cloud band neck and shoulder, gilt and red ground Qianlong four character seal mark, height 31 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The vase is in good order throughout with no obvious faults, cracks, chips or restorations.
Two Chinese lacquer Cinnabar lacquer bowls, mid 20th century, one of petal shape decorated with landscapes, boats, mountains, pine trees and rock work separated by flowering lotus and scroll work, with blue enamel interior and base, the other of shallow form and finely decorated with landscapes to include pagodas, pine trees and mountains separated by lotus flowers and scrolls, with blue enamel interior and base, each with a carved wood stand, diameters 17 cm and 19 cm respectively CONDITION REPORT: Both vases are in good condition throughout with no visible faults. We believe they are hand carved although this might have been done with the aid of a Dremel drill or other techniques of the period. There are no mould marks. We suggest it is formed in a mould, neither are there any blister marks which would you find from an air bubble. There are however, when looking through a jewellers loupe, small cracks between the decoration. All the lacquer ware has come from the same source as the Republic porcelain and cloisonné. This items comes with its original box.
A pair of Chinese porcelain presentation plates, Republic period, one decorated with two ducks amongst lotus leaves and flowers the other with phoenix standing upon a rock between peony, prunus blossom, each with Chinese presentation inscription with red seal, with four character mark Jiangxi Zhenpin (precious from Jiangxi) diameter 21.7 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Both plates are in good order with no obvious faults, cracks, chips or restorations. Both ring out nicely when tapped.
A Chinese porcelain baluster vase with polychrome enamel decoration in the form of peonies and finches to and intricately inscribed yellow ground, inside of neck glazed in turquoise, with red Qianlong seal mark to base within a turquoise ground, on carved wooden stand, height of vase 38.5cm (af). CONDITION REPORT There has been a repaired chip to the flared rim, approx 5 x 1.5cm and some slight marks to the yellow ground.
