After WWII he re-enlisted & served in post-war Germany, Cyprus & Malaya. After 20 years army service he moved into the civil service as a works officer for the Government's Property Services Agency. WWII WIRELESS SET. A WWII wireless set No.19, developed by Pye in 1940. The sets were used by the British Army up to the early 1950s & by Canadian Divisions during WWII. Eventually, they were also produced by a number of different manufacturers in Canada & the USA. Many Mark II versions were made for the 'Lend-lease' programme for which much military material was sent to Russia to help them combat the Nazis. Consequently, many of the No.19 sets have dual English & Russian legends on the panel, as does this one. 44x20x25cm. (Being sold with information on this wireless & photocopies of the circuit notes for this wireless).

Box complete, still with Galleries Lafayette end label, but generally dirty, esp. lid

Gordons marching (7), pipers (2). Scots Guards, Piper and men (8). Royal Scots, (10), 1 plume and 1 arm missing. Camerons, correct complement (10), but standing figures 1 missing base, 2 missing rifles, 1 lying figure with hole. Life Guards correct complement, Officer and troopers (5), 1 head detached, 2 with cracks to horse neck. 11th Hussars correct complement, officer and troopers (5), but officer's plume, 2 tails and 1 part leg missing. Scots Greys, correct complement of officer and 11 troopers, but officer missing sword and head detached, troopers 4 heads detached, 5 missing part leg. Box lid missing side, and top layer missing inserts. Otherwise complete though worn.

Britains set 1335 6-wheel army lorry, just pre-WW2 version with metal wheels, in purple card box, G-VG, with a boxed Marklin 8021 / 56 diecast Miniature 88mm Anti-Aircraft Gun, P, box G, (2), 1335 driver with very early signs of damp, wooden crates are Triang Minic. Marklin 88mm gun extensively fatigued and damaged, though looks complete. Breech seized etc. Complete with original instructions.
