A two-brother group: the Victory and War Medals to: M2-131816 PTE. C. REYNOLDS - A.S.C. (Charles Reynolds (1895-1965) - Mechanical Transport - Army Service Corps) and 23453 PTE. L. REYNOLDS - OXF. & BUCKS. L.I. (Leonard Reynolds (1898-1920) - Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and Wiltshire Regiment 47878). Their father and grandfather were the proprietors of the corn dealership, Charles Reynolds, at 74 Draycott Avenue, Chelsea. The family inform us that Leonard Reynolds suffered a German gas attack from which he never fully recovered.

(Twice wounded in 1918 serving with the Royal Highlanders in France.) 2. The Territorial Efficiency Medal to 918329 SJT. A.B. LINDSAY. R.A., the Defence Medal and the War Medal 1939-45 (oak leaves clasp on ribbon bar). The MID was presumably awarded for his part as one of the 74 glider pilots of E Squadron (2nd Wing) during the D Day operation, Mallard. Casualty List Nos. 1588 (missing 25/09/1944), 1612 (POW 24/11/1944) and 1801 (now not POW 06/07/1945). Stalag 4b, Muhlberg (Elbe) - POW No. 076335. Promoted Sergeant 1946. 3. A small photograph of Allan Barr Lindsay wearing beret; four patches (3 x Glider Pilot Wings and 1 x Pegasus); an Army Air Corps cap badge; a small RAF pin badge and a Lindsay Clan badge (‘Endure Fort or Endure Furth’).

A Georgian mahogany secretaire chest, the upper drawer with a fitted interior over four long graduated drawers on splayed bracket feet, with cross banded top, width 106cm.  Moul had a long and distinguished army career. He was an Officer in the Cheshire Regiment and served in South Africa, India and Burma, after his first retirement he served in the Great War and then went on to Ireland to help oppose the troubles. He was also sent to Ireland to locate the renegade Sir Roger Casement and escort him back to London. Before Casement’s subsequent execution he gave his bejewelled personal pistol to Colonel Moul who for many years kept it among war like relics at his home in Looe. Moul was also assistant to provost Marshal at the Dublin garrison, during the Easter Uprising 1916. He was awarded various medals relating to Burma 1887 and the Boar War 1899.
