dating: first quarter of the 19th Century provenance: France Fine lithograph with the subtitle "Ou la Mort du General d'Hautpoull" depicting the moment when Murat ordered to attack the Russian army near Eylau on February 14th, 1807; at the centre Murat followed by the General Jean Joseph Ange d'Hautpoul's cuirassiers, at the left side the General deadly wounded, rescued by one of his dragoons. The bottom marked "Carle Vernet" on the left hand side and "Gravé par F.F. Wolff" on the right hand side. Later, gilt frame, under glass. dimensions: dimensions 71 x 56 cm.
dating: third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: USA Round 8", 44 cal. barrel, serial n° 75, all matching except wedge (no number). Traces of blue finish in less-visible parts, the rest featuring a gray-brown patina with light pitting toward the barrel. Grips keeping 85% of the varnish with signs of use. Action in excellent conditions.As it is the direct predecessor of the single Action Army, the Open Top is highly prized among collectors. Its limited production and the hard use made the model one of the main Colt pieces, very difficult to find. See "Flayderman's Guide": 5B-133. dimensions: length 34 cm.

Field Marshal Sir George White VC Autograph piece from a letter 19th Century British Army Officer. He was stationed at Peshawar during the Indian Mutiny and then fought at the Battle of Charasiab in October 1879 and at the Battle of Kandahar in September 1880 during the Second Anglo-Afghan War. For his bravery during these two battles, he was awarded the Victoria Cross. He went on to command a brigade during the Third Anglo-Burmese War in 1886 and became commander of Quetta District in 1889 in which role he led operations in the Zhob Valley and in Balochistan. He was commander of the forces in Natal at the opening of the Second Boer War and fought at the Battle of Elandslaagte in October 1899. He commanded the garrison at the Siege of Ladysmith: although instructed by General Sir Redvers Buller to surrender the garrison he responded "I hold Ladysmith for the Queen" and held out for another four months before being relieved in February 1900. He finished his career as Governor of Gibraltar and then as Governor of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.†Good condition. Field Marshal Sir Evelyn Wood VC Autograph piece from a letter 19th Century British Army Officer. After an early career in the Royal Navy, Wood joined the British Army. He served in several major conflicts including the Indian Mutiny where, as a lieutenant, he was awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for valour in the face of the enemy that is awarded to British and Commonwealth forces, for rescuing a local merchant from a band of robbers who had taken their captive into the jungle, where they intended to hang him. Wood further served as a commander in several other conflicts, notably the Third Anglo-Ashanti War, the Anglo-Zulu War, the First Boer War and the Mahdist War. His service in Egypt led to his appointment as Sirdar where he reorganised the Egyptian Army. He returned to Britain to serve as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Aldershot Command from 1889, as Quartermaster-General to the Forces from 1893 and as Adjutant General from 1897. His last appointment was as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command from 1905. Good condition. All signed items come with a Certificate of Authenticity and can be shipped worldwide.

English School (19th century): A pair of watercolours depicting the final day of the Seige of Badajoz, each inscribed 'Badajos, April 6th 1812', H 21 x W 26.5 cm; together with four further studies by the same hand depicting Spanish landscapes during the Peninsular war, two depicting armies on the march, inscribed 'Salamanca' & '...Villa Velho' (6). Note: In the Seige of Badajoz (16th March-6th April 1812), one of the bloodiest in the Napoleonic Wars, an Anglo-Portuguese Army, under General Arthur Wellesley (later the Duke of Wellington), besieged Badajoz, Spain, & forced the surrender of the French garrison.
