Hambleton RE, Jubilee medal 1935, Geo V Army LSGC medal named 1852232 W.O. Class 2 C.J. Hambleton RE, Geo VI Meritorious service medal type 'D' named to 1852232 WO C1.2, C.J. Hambleton RE, together with buttons, badges, collar dogs mounted on card, there is a large amount of paperwork relating to both members including copy photographs etc, 2nd group 1939-45 Star and War medal attributed to L/Cpl Clifford C. Hambleton Royal Engineers, he was taken Prisoner of War in 1940 and sat out the rest of WWII in Stalag 344 (may have been POW at Dunkirk), there is also written information of the recipients from a member of the family, worthy of further research

A WWI ERA, EARLY ISSUE BRODIE STYLE HELMET, which is believed to have been made in the UK and was purchased privately by British Officers at the start of the War, this example is in very good condition and bears the cap badge of the 'Lancashire Hussars' information suggests that the design of the helmet was such that the pressed wrinkled pattern all round the helmet, made it less effective against Shrapnal and was banned by the Army, it was only then seen being worn by Portugese troops throughtout WWI, this helmet is rare and a great collectors item

WWI ISSUE ARMY RECORDS, containing am original Memorial Death certificate named to 'Guardsman John Bernard' ' Welsh Guards, together with transmittal slip for the Death plaque and a paper back sampler identified to Frances Shilton 1625? (much later than this), together with original cutting from newspaper relating to the death of Bernard, with his photo on, Guardsman 2262 John Bernard died on 31st January 1917 on the Somme Battlefront of severe wounds and is buried in Grove Town Cemetery, Meaulte, Somme France, he was from Gnossal, near Stafford

A LARGE MILITARY TIN, with arrow mark, containing a swing mounted WWII group of medal to a soldier who was fortunate enough to be evacuated from Dunkirk, in May 1940 and then went on to serve in Africa and the Middle East till the Wars end, 1939-45, Africa (1st Army Bar) Italy Stars, Defence and War medal, attributed to 3857004 Samuel Doig, The Loyal Regiment, together with his regular Army certificate of Service booklet, which states he was part of the B.E.F. which left for France 23.9.1939, being taken off the beaches at Dunkirk on the 30.5.1940, his discharge was dated 1950, lots more research possible with this group

Pair of Chinese famille rose porcelain cups from the Republic Period decorated with the “Precocious Chicken Boy†with chickens and a poem by the Qianlong emperor. Cups bear apocryphal Qianlong fanggu mark. A very similar and possibly matching cup, part of the Sir Percival David Foundation for Chinese Art, is displayed at the British Museum: http://www.britishmuseum.org/research/collection_online/collection_object_details.aspx?objectId=3180958&partId=1&people=162439&page=16&&sortBy=fromDateDesc. These cups were acquired in Japan by Alroy Piepgras, a Northwest Airlines employee who lived in Japan between 1946 and 1952 as part of a project to set up post-WWII air routes for the US army to locations throughout Southeast Asia. During his six year stay, Piepgras and his family acquired a modest collection of Chinese porcelain and other object. Piepgras passed away in 2002, and his wife Helen in 2014, at which point their children inherited their collection.Dimensions: Height: 2 3/4 in x diameter: 3 1/4 in. Condition: Perfect condition with no chips, cracks or restorations.
An excellent Chinese medal of the KMT; this award is known as the "red's loyalty to the KMT medal". This medal honors the northern Chinese warlord Wu Pei-fu (1874-1939), who encouraged communist insurgents to remain loyal to the KMT Government, and was awarded to military officers and men who displayed merit in this cause. This collection was assembled by Jennings’ parents, who lived in Tianjin, China (then known as Tientsin) in the 1930s. Jennings’ father, Harold Jennings, was a British naval engineer who had originally come to China in the late 1920s and ran a shipyard in Tianjin. His mother, Mary Bayley Jennings, was a nurse from Ohio who originally traveled to Tianjin in 1938. The Jennings were active in the expatriate community in China and throughout Asia, and traveled within Asia, to places such as Hong Kong and Kyoto, collecting art pieces while they went. William Jennings was born in 1939, and the family moved to the United States in 1941 to escape growing conflict in the region, taking their collection with them.
