MILITARY ORDER OF SAINT FERDINAND Knight's Cross of Reduced Size, instituted in 1811. Breast Badge, 35x28 mm, gilt Bronze, enameled, separately made and applied center medallions with fine detail, suspension with stylized palms, grooved ribbon ring, with fine, very old ribbon. An interesting piece from the time of the Carlist Wars (1830) in very fine condition. An identical piece which originally belonged to General Giovanni Durando (later commander of one division of the Sardinian Army in Crimea, 1855), is on display at the Historical Museum of Vicenza (Italy). Army Officer’s Swords with scabbard, WW II The hilt is of brass. The gilt is worn on the normal handhold places. The sword features a motif of oak leaves and accorns which run from the pommel down the back strap and are continued on the flat knuckle bow surfaces, the ferrule has an oak leaf sprig motif, the cross guard features a langet with Wehrmacht style eagle, the grip is black celluloid over wood base, with filigree wire, blade length 90 cm, steel scabbard, black painted. Very good condition. Germany manufacture: Alcoso Solingen (stamped on blade) and marking mark. Rare! I- R!

The sword features a motif of floral which run from the pommel down the back strap and are continued on the flat knuckle bow surfaces, the ferrule has an oak leaf sprig motif, the obverse guard features an open-winged Army eagle which looks to the viewer's left, the grip is in aluminum black painted (partial original paint), with filigree wire, the lion’s head with stones “red eyes”. Blade length 90 cm, steel scabbard, black painted. Good condition. Germany manufacture: E. Pack & Solingen (stamped on blade). Rare! II R!

Breast Badge, 80x50 mm, Silver, early type with screwback suspension bar, separately-made centre medallion, with red enameled border; the reverse, with three rivets securing the obverse medallion and a vertical, broad stickpin, the lower right ray, engraved with no. 224 (McDaniel-Schmitt, Type 1, Variation 1). Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class. Breast Badge, 47 mm, Silver, enameled, separately-made hammer-and-sickle in GOLD, the reverse engraved with no. 478468, mint mark and original, screwback suspension, Order of the Red Star. Breast Badge, 47 mm, Silver, red enamel, the reverse engraved with no. 56120, mint mark and original, screwback suspension. Medal bar with five decorations: Order of the Red Banner (missing, but present a silver plate drilled for mounting a pre-1943, screwback piece); Medal for Courage, Silver and red enameled details, the reverse, struck with no. 174007; Medal for Military Merit, Silver and reed enameled details, the reverse, struck with no. 235073; Medal for the Defense of Moscow, Brass; Medal for the Victory over Germany, Brass; all mounted for wear, with original ribbons on the original, aluminium base-plate with horizontal pin. “Ordenskaya Knizhka” with picture portrait of Zhoganov, wearing the uniform of a Guard’s lieutenant colonel, wearing all the mentioned orders (including the Suvorov with suspension bar), inscribed with all the numbered awards, dated March 8th 1947 (started in December 1942). Medal for the 40th Anniversary of the Victory, type for labourers (perhaps belonged to a member of Zhoganov’s family; brass, with original ribbon on its original plate. A highly interesting and rare group, belonged to a brave officer of the Red Army; extremely fine to excellent condition. I-II RR!
