Registration - MWV 589JChassis No. - 8305014272157M.O.T. - ExemptOdometer - 93,153One of very few Kaiser CJ-5 Jeeps in the country, ‘MWV 589J’ offers a rare opportunity to own a genuine military vehicle – albeit one that isn’t British. Like many Jeeps, this Kaiser CJ-5 is left-hand drive, which is unsurprising considering there is documentation showing that it was in service with the Swiss Army during its lifetime. Imported from Germany in 2019, ‘MWV 589J’ comes complete with German ‘D’ country plaque at the rear, and instruction plates in German and French inside.Still running a 24-Volt system, the Jeep is presented with the usual military features you might expect; khaki green paint inside and out, vinyl seats and rear bench, hooded light on the front wing, and exterior-mounted Jerry Can, spare wheel, and tow-hook. Fitted with a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder engine and three-speed manual gearbox, the odometer shows an indicated 93,153 miles which wouldn’t be surprising considering its age and pedigree, but is unwarranted. The transmission, electrics, and bodywork are all rated as being in ‘excellent’ condition by the current owner, while the engine, paintwork, and interior are all regarded as ‘good’. A direct descendent of the famous World War II 1941 Willys Jeep, the CJ-5 was launched in 1954 with a number of changes over its CJ-3 forebears, following Kaiser’s merger with Willys-Overland the previous year. Most distinctive of these was the new, rounded bonnet and front wings, though there were mechanical alterations too. These included bodywork made from heavy-gauge steel, a larger windscreen frame, more comfortable front seats, and longer springs. These proved popular enough to give the CJ-5 one of the longest production runs in history, not ceasing production until 1983, by which time Kaiser had been sold to the American Motors Corporation (AMC) in 1970. · Rare left-hand drive CJ-5 Jeep with military pedigree.· Imported from Germany following service with the Swiss Army.· Retains many military features including exterior-mounted spare wheel, light, and Jerry Can.. Full original canvas canopy

Start Price: EUR 600 Zustand: (3/3)Traveling Cinema "TK 35", c. 1960Carl Zeiss Jena, VEB, Jena. The "Tonfilm-Koffer-Anlage 35" (Sound Film Suitcase 35) consists of two film projectors with fire-protection drums for 600-meter long films with the associated empty reels. The large lamp houses can be sealed off for transport. The two projectors stand on folding wood tripods. In addition to the two Kipronar 14 cm projection lenses in the projectors, there are two replacement Kipronar lenses with a focal length of 14 cm and two more with a focal length of 12 cm. The equipment also includes a switchable power supply and a light amplifier. Another case contains two speakers. All connection cables are present. The accessories case contains two winding stands for rewinding, replacement cables and empty spools. An operational traveling cinema, electrical functions are untested. - Note: In 1947, the Soviet military administration gave the newly expropriated Carl Zeiss Jena company the order to begin mass production of this portable suitcase cinema based on Soviet designs. Film was an important vehicle for propaganda and entertainment. "TK 35” systems were used by the Soviet armed forces, the National People’s Army, in youth association holiday camps and by mobile rural film organizations. Because of the low price, many of the sound film cases were also sold to West Germany. The "TK 35" projectors, which had been improved several times in terms of design, were in operation in the GDR and the Eastern Bloc states until their collapse in 1990. Start Price: EUR 600 Condition: (3/3)

Start Price: EUR 600 Zustand: (3+/2+)Slow Motion 16 High-Speed Camera, c. 1940Zeiss Ikon, Dresden. Consisting of a high-speed camera with motor and hand-turned mechanism, a Sonnar lens with intermediate rings and a large number of insertable additional lenses, an attachment viewfinder and a dismantled heavy wood tripod, electrical functions untested. - In addition: Original operating instructions of 24 pages with price sheet as well as a mention of the "Kinox S" projector. - Note: Shortly before the start of the war, the Zeiss Ikon company in Dresden introduced this new narrow film slow motion camera as an addition to the 35mm Model 2 slow motion camera in its range. At the Leipzig trade fair, the product was advertised as "a new camera for the armed forces industry". The number of units produced is unknown. Most of these systems were delivered to the army testing facility in Kummersdorf for documentation of armor-piercing ammunition and other technical processes and to the testing facility in Peenemünde for documentation of the V1 and V2 rocket projectiles. Such a camera is also said to have been in use at the Rechlin Air Force testing center. The recordings were made on double-sided perforated 16mm film material on daylight reels. Because of the high image speeds instead of the usual single-frame switching mechanism of a film camera, a ring of mirrors is employed, which the film is continuously guided past. In the electric drive, image speeds of 500 to 3000 fps can be achieved using various accessories. Start Price: EUR 600 Condition: (3+/2+)

Soon after the war ended, Coward urged him to resume his novel writing. “The admonitory Coward index finger wagged under my nose,” Ambler recalled in Here Lies. “Forget all this film nonsense,” he said. “Write more books. You think that you will always be able to go back to the well. But if you stay away too long, there will come a day when you will go back and find the well drr-y.”Ambler duly took heed, and in 1951 published Judgment on Deltchev, and thereafter wrote ten more novels over the next thirty years.

Lot 224

A collection of 29 original WW1 letters 1917-19 sent by 102655 Private Sidney Barnes, 172 and 196, 7th Infantry Labour Company, Devonshire Regiment to his wife in Ladywood, Birmingham. 18 of the letters sent from France and Italy are in the original envelopes with censor stamps. 11 of the letters have YMCA letterheads. One letter is prefixed DADL (Deputy Assistant Director of Labour) GHQ 2nd Echelon, which suggests that Pvte Barnes may have been a batman, as does the prefix to another letter, 'Officer's Compound, no 3 Rest Camp'. A noteable cancellation from early 1919 is Army Post Office L1 indicating that Pte Barnes was at Legnano with the Italian Expeditionary Force. With research papers.
