A double-ended hardstone desk seal, English, late 19th/early 20th Century, the natural rough flint of slightly undulating cylindrical form, cut to reveal two black oval polished matrices at either end, one engraved with an inscription "Army and Navy Club", the opposing end with crest and eponymous motto "LEMAN", 46.8mm long, the crest matrix 15.3mm wide, 18.3mm high, the inscribed matrix 16.2mm wide, 14.3mm high Note- "The crest is that of Leman of Northaw, Hertfordshire, Baronets, and of Brampton Hall, Suffolk. The Baronetcy descends from Sir John Leman, Lord Mayor of London in 1616, who acquired an estate of £4,000 per annum, buying Warboys in Huntingdonshire from Sir Oliver Cromwell, but dying without issue in 1632. His younger nephew, William, woollen draper of London, inherited most of his fortune and was elected to parliament, his son being created Baronet in 1664. The baronetcy is "presumed to have expired" on the death of Sir Tanfeild, 3rd Baronet, in 1762. Also in descent from the Lord mayor was Susan Leman, whose son the Revd. Naunton Thomas Orgill assumed the surname and arms of his maternal ancestors in 1807, and the estates of Brampton Hall. if late 19th Century, the seal was almost certainly for his son, Naunton T=Robert Twysden Leman who succeeded to the estates in 1869". Howard The connection between any member of the Leman family and the Army and Navy Club remains to be established.

A 19th Century steel seal matrix, engraved with two oval coats of arms above motto "MARTE ET ARTE" flanked by two depictions of soldiers with muskets and fixed bayonets, the matrix 23.2mm wide, 19.8mm high Note- General Sir Henry (Harry) David Jones GCB DCL (14th March 1791-4th August 1866) was a British army officer who became governor of the Royal Military College Sandhurst. Born at Landguard Fort, Felixstowe, Jones had an extensive military career including commanding the British forces at the Battle of Bormasund in the Crimean War.

TWO USA ARMY UNIFORM JACKETS, the first is a USA Marine corps jacket with rank insignia to the upper arms, it is 1960's, the second jacket is an IKE jacket with different collar dogs, a Gloucestershire unit Citation, a second armour division insignia to the upper left arm and medal ribbon bars to the front left chest area, this is size 34 long and dated June 6th 1944, both appear to be in good condition, Customers must satisfy themselves prior to sale in regards to conditions and authenticity, viewing is advised, condition reports are available on request
A COLLECTION OF ONE HUNDRED GERMAN PARTY STEREO CARDS, these feature the Austrian Anschluss celebrations in 1938, each card feature an identical pair of photographs by Heinrich Hoffman of Munich and each one has a caption, these cards were produced by Raumlyld Varlag and they depict the events preceding the Anschluss, Austria's overthrown politicians, citizens welcoming the German Army parades of the SA and the NSDP, a reception of Hitler and other leaders at Austrian towns and surrounding countryside, the German Army marched into Austria on 12th March 1938, provenance is these cards were previously sold by Cavendish Philatelic Auctions on 17th December 1997 and were lot 962, Customers must satisfy themselves prior to sale in regards to conditions and authenticity, viewing is advised, condition reports are available on request
