WW2 officer's group of eight: 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, F&G Star, Defence and War, with Mid Territorial decoration named and dated 1952, with French Croix de Guerre medals to Major R. Griffiths, 9th D.L.I.; also served Paras. Comes with two commission scrolls, June 1943 in the Welsh Reg.; comes with group photo, various reunion programmes, service details, and a scarce Empire Press Union Tour 1-10 July 1946 Normandy to the Baltic, in which he took part, and left the army in 1953.
India General Service Medal 1854 with Burma 1887-89 clasp, engraved 'Lieut T D Leslie 4th Cavly Hybd Contgt'. (4th Cavalry, Hyderabad Contingent). Commissioned 9/9/1882, Lieut 1883 in the 2nd Royal Fusiliers. Indian Army list July 1890 show him as a Lieut Madras Staff Corps serving as a Squadron Officer. On 1/1/1890 he was appointed Adjutant in the Governors Bodyguard Captain 9 Sept 1893. With copied research. GVF

KSA with bars SA01/SA02 (6876 Pte T Smith Durham L.I.), BWM & Victory Medal (2.Lieut M A Smith), GV Army LSGC Medal (6876 C.Sjt M A Smith Durham L.I.). With copy service papers, twice Wounded. This chap enlisted in 1899 under the name Thomas Smith, his real name being Matthew Arnold Smith, later noted in 1916. Lot also includes officer cap badge and pips, plus DLI engraved
