Rare German Newsletter poster No’1 for Klagenfurt Wehrmacht 8th Army 12th May 1945 (five months from the end of the war), it has information on the War with Japan, Russian and American troop movements, High ranking German Staff officers in England (peace talks?), folded with creases and small nicks missing from edge.
dating: 19th Century provenance: USA, Iron, rifled barrel painted in black and shaped as a truncated cone. Provided with foresight near the right trunnion. Rifled bore, blocked with iron disks. Presented on its mountain shaft made of metal and with wooden rayed wheels featuring an iron support. Manufactured for the American army starting from 1881. With certificate. Very rare. dimensions total with carriage circa 200 cm.
dating: about 1880 provenance: Brescia, Round, 10,4 x 47 R cal. Italian Vetterli barrel with octagonal base marked 'BERETTA', 'PF' and 'BRESCIA', provided with adjustable rear sight and foresight, lateral serial number '.38' (the first number is not easily readable), under the barrel a long tubular magazine; central fire bolt with rear trigger; wooden stock (small missing parts), iron mounts. Working mechanism. The Pieri system rifle, manufactured by Beretta in Brescia (also by Glisenti) in very limited samples, was presented in the competition of the Royal Army in roder to replace the 1867 Carcano model. Very few items were distributed to be evaluated, together with other Italian and foreign models in 1870. The Vetterli single-shot version was the winner of the competition. length 105 cm.

Mills’; together with an Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry cap badge, very fine (4) £60-£80 --- James Hubert John Mills, a native of Witney, Oxfordshire, attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and served with the 5th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 17 September 1915. He later transferred to the 2nd Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, and was discharged to the Army Reserve on 16 April 1919. He died at Black Bourton, Oxfordshire, in 1978.
