dating: 1878 provenance: Greece, Round, rifled, 11 mm cal. barrel at the nozzle (bore clean, visible grooves on the inside), with clutch for the bayonet and foresight, foldaway and adjustable rear sight, various marks including the Liege bench mark and date '1873'. Falling block bolt. Marking 'EM & L NAGANT A LIEGE' and with mark. The dorsal tang with marking in Greek and wording of the Milena model. In front of the trigger guard, the bolt opening knob. Working mechanics. Smooth, wooden butt and fore-end, the butt side with Greek stamp and date '1873', on the bottom crowned 'R'. Marked iron mounts. With bayonet (matching? the joint doesn't seem to fit very well) with metal scabbard. Attached are historical notes collected by the owner, on this rare rifle adopted by the Greek army. length 101 cm.

The breech block with bolt action that lifts from below thanks to the iron lever placed in front of the trigger guard. Incorporated in the bolt, the flintlock, with back hammer, pan and batteria. Working mechanics. Remains of the markings 'J.H. HALL / H. FE... / US 1838'. Full, brown stained wooden stock. Iron mounts. Butt plate with some pitting. Iron ramrod. Attached are historical notes collected by the owner.This rifle, manufactured by Harpers Ferry Armory under license from John J. Hall, was the first mass-produced breech-loading military rifle adopted as a nationally issued sidearm. A large number of these models were used in the Civil War and converted to rimfire by the Confederate army. See Flayderman's Guide, 9th Edition, pp. 556-557. length 134 cm.

Full, wooden stock with iron mounts, the tang marked 'GREENE'S PATENT/NOV. 17. 1857'. Compartment in the butt-plate. Manufactured by the A. H. Waters Armory, Milbury, Massachusetts circa 1859-1860. Only 1500 US examples and 3000 for a contract with Russia. It was the first Bolt Action rifle adopted by the US Army. length 133 cm.
