WW2 British Photographs of Bergen - Belsen Concentration Camp taken in 1945 upon liberation by the British Army. 49 pictures in total, each measuring 16cm x 11.5cm. Penciled negative number on reverse. These were printed in 1945 for purchase by British Servicemen. The vendors Father, Sgt. R Ellis, took part in the Liberation of the Camp in 1945. He was later sent the photos by an Army Film and Photographic Unit cameraman. New to the market.

TWO MID 19TH CENTURY FRENCH ARMY CADETS GLADIUS SWORDS, in their original leather covered scabbards fitted with brass reinforced ends, they are of identical design but by different makers, one bears the numbers 1241 and 40 on its brass hilt and the sword bears a worn makers name, below which it is marked Paris, the second sword has its hilt marked Mai 1836 but its maker's name is illegible, both have 19'' blades, one's leather covering to its scabbard has lost its leather cord binding (2)

A Second World War British Army dress sword and scabbard recently re furbished to a very high standard with glove and a case - Provenance: The vendors Father was Major Harold Ralph Finch Mason and he was serving in the British Army at the time of the fall of Singapore in February 1942 - at that time he held the rank of Captain. He was taken prisoner by the Japanese and was taken to work on the Burma railway. He was in Changi camp from February to October 1942, Tasao Camp from November 1942 to April 1944, Tamuan Camp from May 1944 to January 1945 and Kanburi Camp from January 1945 to July 1945 when he was liberated. After the war his military service was largely undertaken in Malaya. He achieved the rank of Major and was awarded an MBE in 1958 for his service in Malaya.
