Penciled negative number on reverse. These were printed in 1945 for purchase by British Servicemen. The vendors Father, Sgt. R Ellis, took part in the Liberation of the Camp in 1945. He was later sent the photos by an Army Film and Photographic Unit cameraman. New to the market.

A Second World War British Army dress sword and scabbard recently re furbished to a very high standard with glove and a case - Provenance: The vendors Father was Major Harold Ralph Finch Mason and he was serving in the British Army at the time of the fall of Singapore in February 1942 - at that time he held the rank of Captain. He was taken prisoner by the Japanese and was taken to work on the Burma railway. He was in Changi camp from February to October 1942, Tasao Camp from November 1942 to April 1944, Tamuan Camp from May 1944 to January 1945 and Kanburi Camp from January 1945 to July 1945 when he was liberated. After the war his military service was largely undertaken in Malaya. He achieved the rank of Major and was awarded an MBE in 1958 for his service in Malaya.
