Fifteen highly collectable period black and white photographs of scenes including action of World War II, each 10`` x 8`` approx. and most having a type-written label attached verso and including:- ``Baltimore bombers strafe fleeing German vehicles (picture radioed from Cairo by Cable & Wireless), Bombs bursting among retreating German vehicles in the western Desert``. ``Cologne Raid damage, first pictures. On the night of May 30th R.A.F. Bomber Command carried out the heaviest air attack of the war up to that time, the raiding force was well in excess of a thousand bombers and it`s target was Cologne - Picture shows: Widespread damage in this picture, which shows a section of the modern part of the city``. ``Secrets of captured German Focke Wulf 190 fighter disclosed to experts, - a Focke Wulf 190, one of the Luftwaffe`s newest single seat fighters was captured intact when it was forced down in England owing to lack of fuel, now with R.A.F. markings it is undergoing exhaustive flying tests and examination by technical experts``. ``Big U.S. Navy base in Ulster built by American and British workers in 6 months - nearly 800 American technicians with over 2000 local workers built it in six months, all the equipment down to the last nut and bolt, coming from the U.S.A. The Chinese General Li Yu-Tang stated on Jan 9 that a conservative estimate the Japanese lost 21,000 men in the Changsha area between Dec 31 and Jan 5, including the local Japanese Commander Kato, who was killed.
