The 2 Navy examples dated 1939 and 1941 respectively, with one by Butcher of Sheffield and the other by ‘SSP’. The Army example dated 1941 and faintly marked ‘Rogers’. Each knife has the usual crosshatched grip and lanyard ring. The sizes range from 9.5cm length, up to 9.8cm length (folded). 3 items. Condition: generally good. Normal service wear to each, plus darkening to some of the steel parts. The Army example appears to have a panel cut out of the grip to allow it to be personalised with the owners name, which is ‘C.Rees’. One of the Navy examples has the initials WKA scratched into one of the grips. Evidence of sharpening to the blades in places.

Silver braided straps with olive green velvet backing. Overall length 40cm, blade length 25cm. Condition: generally good, with service wear. Single edge blade with fuller and flat spine. Complete with metal scabbard and leather frog. Notes: the blade is marked with the 3 petal flower mark for either the Tokyo Army Arsenal mark 1898-1923, or the Kokura Army Arsenal 1924-1945. Approximately 52.8cm length in the scabbard, blade length 39.4cm. Condition: generally solid, with service wear. Some knocks / indentations to the wooden grips. Some darkening to the steel parts. Scabbard is good, with some very minor denting. Frog is complete, with good age related patina.
A WW2 era German army officer’s sword. Cast cross guard with German eagle set into the langet. D shaped knuckle guard with oak leaf detail, lions head pommel, and backpiece decorated with scrolls and flowers. Black celluloid grip with twisted wire bindings. Narrow single edged, slightly curved steel blade with single fuller. There is a makers mark under the langet, but it’s difficult to read - the word ‘Solingen’ is readable, but the maker isn’t. Approximately 94.5cm length. Condition: solid condition, but service wear. The gilt finish to the hilt has worn to the high points in several places, revealing the white metal beneath. There appears to be a very slight kink to the knuckle guard where it meets the pommel. Celluloid grip intact, but a small piece of the wire binding is protruding. Blade is good, but has darkened to the steel. Scabbard absent.
