Formerly the property of Thomas White of Wallingwells who raised the Nottinghamshire Yeomanry in 1794 (later the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry), financed and housed the Regiment at his own cost and was granted a baronetcy by King George III for his loyalty to the crown, consigned by a direct descendant.
