German Police Officers Peaked Cap, interesting late war German police peaked cap which has been converted for wear in the German army. Cap has green piping to the crown and bordering the central band. Fitted with original but later applied metal insignia, evidence of the original police roundel cockade to the top centre of the cap. Officers chin cords with pebbled side buttons. Two gromet vents to the side of the cap, typical of Police caps. Interior with leather sweatband and cloth lining. Remains of the celluloid diamond to the interior crown.

WW2 German Army Cavalry Section Senior NCO’s Parade Tunic, fine quality waffenrock tunic with golden yellow piping to the centre, collar, cuffs and rear skirt. Officers pattern bullion embroidered breast eagle and medal loops to the lower section. Bottle green collar and cuffs with tress and yellow backed collar patches. NCO’s pattern shoulder straps with embroidered “6” to the centre. Plain pebbled buttons to the front, shoulders and rear skirt. Officers quality lining to the interior. Remains in excellent overall condition showing just light service wear.
Inert WW1 British No2 Mk II Hales Hand Grenade, very good condition example retaining much of its finish. Complete with its wooden haft. This pattern of grenade was designed by Marten Hale of the Cotton Powder Company in 1907. It was first produced for the Mexican Government in 1910, this is why it is often referred to as a “Mexican”. After the outbreak of WW1 the British military approved it for service with the British army. This item is empty and safe to own in the UK. We are not able to offer any in house post and packing for this item. Buyer will need to organise collection.
WW1 Turkish Army Canvas Water Carrier, heavy canvas pouch with a white porcelain spout top and heavy duty brass fixing rings which hold thick brown leather straps attached to a canvas shoulder strap. Stencilled star and crescent moon stamp to the front of the water carrier. A very unusual item, little reference exists of equipment of the Turkish army during WW1.
Indian General Service Medal 1854-95 6th (1st Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot, medal with single clasp North West Frontier, awarded to “961. M FLYNN H M’s 1st BN 6TH REGT”. Medal with correct impressed naming style. Medal shows some wear but generally good condition. Private Michael Flynn attested for 10 years service with the colours on 27th June 1862. He served with the regiment in India, being awarded the Indian General Service medal with clasp North West Frontier for his involvement in the campaign in Hazara. He later transferred to the 100th (Leinster) Regiment of Foot, being given the service number 2221 and was awarded the Army Long Service Good Conduct medal on 24th December 1883. He was discharged at Gosport.
1914 “Mons” Star Army Service Corps, awarded to “M1-06771 PTE G S SARGENT A.S.C”. Accompanied by a 1914-15 star awarded to “G-1326 L CPL C V WOOD E KENT R”. Both remain in good condition. Private G S Sargent served overseas from 5th November 1914, he served with the 26th Field Ambulance Army Service Corps. Charles Victor Wood served with the 8th battalion The East Kent Regiment and was killed in action on 26th September 1915, he is commemorated on the Loos memorial.
George V Army Long Service Good Conduct Medal Royal Artillery, field marshal bust, awarded to “1405046 SJT S L CARTER RA”; George V Army Long Service Good Conduct medal with Regular Army suspender, awarded to “1038869 BMBR J H HUTCHINGS R.A”. Medal is polished and shows some wear. (2 items) Sydney Lawrence Carter was born in Birmingham in 1890, he attested in the Royal Artillery 1909. He served during WW1 and was awarded the British War and Victory medals. He was discharged 23rd March 1928. John Harold Hutchings was born in St Simons, Jersey in 1895, he attested for the Royal Artillery in August 1915. He had the previous service number of 107862, he served during the Great War and was awarded the British War and Victory medals whilst serving as a Driver with the Royal Field Artillery.

He served as Governor of Jamaica between 1807 and 1827, and was instrumental in preparing the colony for emancipation. He retired to England to serve as Postmaster-General under Wellington.
