A Great War 1914-15 Star medal trio for service in the Tyne Division Royal Engineers. 1914-15 Star Medal, British War and Victory Medals, “61341 DVR. J. HENDERSON R.E.” Jeffey Henderson was a 27-year-old miner from Willington, County Durham when he attested for service in the Royal Engineers on 8th February 1915 at Newcastle-on-Tyne. He served in France in ‘C’ Company Tyne Division Royal Engineers arriving in theatre on 2nd October 1915. He was discharged to Class Z Army Reserve on 11th January 1919.
WW1 / WW2 British Army Cap Badges, Good selection of British military cap badges. Includes a mixture of original and restrike cap badges. Two plastic type KRRC cap badges, Australian collar badges pair of, and an Ayrshire yeomanry cap badge feature in this lot. Overall good condition with some lugs or sliders missing.
Vietnam War Period American Army Lieutenant Colonels Attributed Peaked Cap, fine example of a green wool visor cap with gilt metal American army eagle hat emblem and bullion embroidered rank oakleaves to the peak. Interior with tan leather sweatband, yellow quilted lining with Bancroft tailors label and name label to the celluloid, ‘LT COL PECK UNITED STATES ARMY HOSPITAL FORT ORD, CALIFORNIA’.
Vietnam War Style M1 US Army Helmet, M1 helmet with fiberglass liner. The helmet has a typical Vietnam war cover with period graffiti. Being that the DSA number stamped onto the cloth cover is dated 1974 it is assumed this is a helmet dressed up to imitate a Vietnam war period helmet. Liner is of fiberglass construction with a broken chin strap. The helmet shell is also missing its chin strap.
WW2 German M-42 Steel Combat Helmet, being an original helmet shell which has been refurbished with a new army eagle decal, interior with a new leather liner system and leather chinstrap. US Army EE-8 Field Telephone and M1 GP Bag, Original EE-8 field telephone in its rubberised case complete with handheld speaker phone and its carrying strap. In good condition with side access flap to the winder with working ‘lift the dot’ fasteners. Has suffered with rust damaged to the strap eyelets, as well as general soiling to the outer cover. 1945 dated M1 GP bag in worn condition also included in this lot.
WW2 British HMSO Wartime Booklets and Magazines, A good large collection of original WW2 period Stationery Office official booklets and magazines. The lot includes many titles, such as 'The Air Battle of Malta', 'British Railways, in Peace & War', 'Before We Go Back, Norway's Fight', 'There's Freedom in the Air' and 'Fleet Air Arm' to name a few. Two larger magazine type books, one of the Eighth Army in Egypt and the other on the campaign in Tunisia. Also, an Air Ministry published book on 'Kings Regulations of the Royal Air Force'. Some of the copies have unfortunately suffered from wear and tear with some covers and bindings deteriorating.
A Great War 1914 Star medal trio to the Army Service Corps, 1914 Star Medal, “T-23086 DVR: D.H. MARSH A.S.C.”, British War and Victory Medals, “T-23086 DVR. D.H. MARSH A.S.C.”. Douglas Henry Marsh was born in Wingham, Kent in 1887. He attested for the Army Service Corps on 5th May 1905 in Canterbury serving at home until the outbreak of the Great War. He served in France with the 4th Company 3rd Divisional Train from 13th August 1914 until 31st August 1914 when he returned to the UK and was discharged unfit for further service due to Neuritis on 2nd October 1914.
1st Gloucestershire Regiment Battle Dress Blouse, 29th Brigade, 1st battalion Gloucester Regiment battle dress blouse to a corporal in the 29th infantry brigade. the 29th Brigade served in Korea of which the 1st btn Glosters where part of, they were disbanded in 1956 upon leaving the conflict. The titles are of the embroidered type with the 29th Brigade patch to the right arm and a printed Wessex Brigade patch to the left. Corporal stripes to each arm with the 39-45 star, North Africa star (1st Army), Italy star and the defence & war medal ribbons to the chest. Good overall condition and a nice piece of Korean war history.

Intelligence Corps Battle Dress Blouse, 49 pattern battle dress blouse, Intelligence Corps titles with printed formation signs of the ‘Territorial Army Corps Troops’ on each sleeve. Blanco’d corporal stripes and an ‘A’ class trade patch to the right arm. Green lanyard and 1960 dated. Good overall condition.
WW2 British Chindit and SEAC Cloth Insignia, a good collection of original British cloth insignia related to the Chindits of the Burma Campaign, having all came from the same individual who served in South East Asia. This lot includes a beautiful pair of bullion Chindit patches, sewn onto a blue felt material as these types of period made pieces should be. One pair of bullion ‘Allied Land Forces South East Asia’ (ALFSEA) patches, as well as 4 pairs of the standard printed ALFSEA examples. One pair of Embroidered theatre made 14th Army patches backed on a KD airtex material. 12th Army matching pair of theatre made patches are also included, once again backed onto airtex material and utilizing a pin and catch to attach to the uniform sleeve. Printed pair of 11th East African Division patches, one ‘SEAC’ title and a small collection of red felt ‘T’ patches with the number ‘170’ upon the top. These resemble that of the WW1 170th RE tunnellers patches although no official evidence of this patch is known to exist, and more likely to be of a theatre made SEAC Origin.
WW1 US Army P17 Bayonet, Good original example of a first war US P17 bayonet and scabbard. Manufactured by Remington with the usual ‘Flaming Grenade’ stamp and ‘1917’ to the blade. US pattern scabbard with webbing belt prongs to the top. Overall good condition with the leather in good condition and the fixing catch in working order.
A Great War 1914-15 Star medal trio to the Royal Engineers.1914-15 Star Medal, British War and Victory Medals, “63497 SPR: W.C. RUSSELL R.E.” William Charles Russell from Tottenham, London, attested for the Royal Engineers on 12th January 1915 and served in France from 11th September 1915 serving with 447 Field Company. He received a GSW to his left leg on 27th May 1918 which resulted in him spending 78 days in hospital. He was discharged to Class Z Army Reserve on 28th January 1919.
Large Framed Pioneer Corps Presentation Piece, Cold War, A quantity of Soviet and German, cloth and metal insignia from the cold war period. Framed as a presentation piece and presented to the ‘Director of Army Pioneers’ and dated 1983. The Berlin wall is represented with blocks and barbed wire with the Royal Pioneer Corps cap badge mounted in the centre. Good period piece associated with the Berlin wall. 43x34 inches. WW2 Pattern British Army Denim Blouse 1946 Dated, Original British Army denim battledress blouse. This example is in good condition, retaining a good strong khaki green colour with the appearance of very minimal use. All the ring shanked buttons remain with the waist buckle still in place. The label ‘Overall. Blouses, Denim’ remains on the inside with its stated size of ‘4’ and dated 1946. A service number and name are written to the interior. Good usable blouse.
WW2 German Army M-35 Double Decal Steel Combat Helmet, example retains much of the apple green paint finish still, German army eagle decal about 80% present, national tri-colour about 70% remaining. Helmet is complete with its original leather liner on aluminium band. Shell stamped ‘ET62’ and batch number ‘3822’. Chinstrap maker marked and dated 1940. British Army Officers Greatcoat, Pre-War, 1930’s, Officers serge greatcoat, good early example. Leather football style buttons throughout with hook and eye collar and collar joining piece, also in place buttoned away on the collar itself apposed to using a separate piece that would often be found inside the coat. The Thresher & Glennys tailors label still present within the pocket. External lower pockets. Most likely a pre-war example dating to the 1930’s. Infantry scarlet backed cloth pips to each epaulette. Some mothing in areas. Otherwise a nice looking coat.

Two WW2 British Army Officers Tunics, Two British army officers service dress tunics. First one with East Surrey regimental buttons and ‘Burton’ tailor’s label. The collar dogs and pips have been removed and is missing its waist belt. The second one of better quality in the economy cut, retains all is original metal work insignia, including the general service collar dogs, GS buttons and Captain rank pips to each shoulder. This example is made by the tailors ‘Tom Brown’ of ‘Conduit St, London’ although this address has been crossed out and re stamped in red ink a new address in ‘Princess St’ this was due to the original tailor shop being bombed in the Blitz and having moved shop. Named and dated ‘9/43’ on the label. Complete with waist belt. Nice wartime tunic, complete.

SMITH A.S.C.” Harry Smith served in France from 21st July 1915 with the Royal Engineers later transferring to the 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers.
WW2 British Army Officers Greatcoat, 1939 Dated, Original officer’s greatcoat complete with buttons of a light infantry regiment throughout. The tailors label inside the ticket pocket dates the coat to 1939. The metal rank insignia is missing. Mothing on the exterior of the serge material and to the interior. Ten Original Livery Button Pattern Book Pages Containing 149 Buttons, Eight early 19th century cards containing 12 large and 93 small gilt and silver plate livery buttons many identified, some peerage. With two mid-19th century pages containing 41 large and 3 small livery buttons. All from the JR Gaunt & Son Ltd Pattern Book Archive via the National Army Museum, Chelsea. The earlier eight pages contain buttons in generally very good condition (one heavily age-soiled page’s buttons require cleaning). The buttons on the later two pages are generally near mint. A remarkable array of buttons and pages charting the social history of Britain. 149 items
WW2 US Army Doughboy Pack Complete with Bayonet, Meat Can Pouch and T-Handle Shovel, Original US Army webbing equipment, comprising of the doughboy pack, t-handle shovel, M1 bayonet, meat can pouch and the wool blanket. The pack itself is in good condition, retaining all its straps and buckles as should, no date is visible on this example. US stamped T-handle shovel is in good condition, in the original 1942 dated cover. The meat can pouch is certainly, ‘well worn’, but very much original. Completing this lot is the M1 bayonet, dated 1942 to the blade and the manufacturer ‘UFH’ in its original scabbard. US Army wool blanket fills the pack as per normal. Overall good complete back equipment.
Four WW2 US Army Sweetheart Items, Cushion Cases, Handkerchief, Nice collection of WW2 US Army sweetheart related items. Includes two cushion covers in the classic US style depicting vehicles and troops in the Army, one of which has the serviceman’s name and ‘Fighting 96th Okinawa, Shima’ relating to the 96th division that landed there. A felt pendant from ‘Camp Campbell’ featuring tanks and jeep upon it, with the 20th Armd patch glued to the centre. Lastly a colourful silk hanky from ‘Camp Carrabelle’ Florida. All in good condition with vibrant colours.
