A VERY RARE PRUSSIAN HUSSAR SABRE MADE FOR A BOY, mid-18th century, with leather covered wooden grip, brass stirrup hilt and curved 21in. single-edged blade, the forte engraved with stars and men-in-the-moon symbols, in its brass-mounted wooden scabbard, the scabbard mounts and hilt decorated with rococo scrolls and foliage (the back-strap and scabbard covering missing). Footnote: This two-thirds scale sabre may have been made for the son of a Hussar Officer in the Army of Frederick the Great or for a cadet at a military school. Its form is characteristic of sabres carried by Prussian Hussars in the Seven Years war and the rococo decoration is in keeping with Prussian court fashion. Frederick's place at Sans Souci was decorated in the high rococo style.

A Czechoslovakian glass Art Deco commemorative spirit set of Nazi significance comprising: a decanter and stopper and six spirit glasses flashed in black and engraved with geometric panels and swastikas the decanter inscribed Grober-ung der festung Eben Emael 11 Mai 1940. and to the underside 4. Panzer Division circa 1940 (slight wear) The set presumably celebrates the part that the 4th Panzer Division played in the battle to take the Belgian front line fortress of Eben Emael (which in fact fell comparatively easily to German paratroops). The 4th Panzer Division was part of the spearhead of the German 6th Army Group (Reichenau) that crossed the Mass and Albert canal going around the fortress. By this stage the fortÕs guns were neutralised and efforts by Allied aircraft to bomb the bridges and cut off this advance guard failed and thus they could proceed into Belgium.
A 19th century walnut sphere of possible Bonapartist significance in two sections with a central separate screw thread 6cm diameter It is suggested that if this ball is held against the light with the top section removed the thread suggests a profile of Napoleon Bonapart and may have been used by members of a sect symphathetic to the return of the Emperor from exile on Elba in 1814 preceeding Ôthe hundred daysÕ. #100-150 127 John Brown (1826-1883) In Memorian card printed in black ink with black mourning borders Oblong (120mm x 80mm.) with original envelope not addressed Wellington Arthur Wellesley 1st Duke (1769-1852) two page manuscript letter written in black ink dated April 12 1820 London to Lady Shelley concerning various topics including the provision of a private doctor (190mm x 120mm.)
