A replaced Queen Elizabeth II General Service medal with Malaya bar to Prviate FW Cartledge Manchester Regiment, the reverse of bar inscribed "copy" together with his Manchester Regiment cap badge, his Loyal Regiment badge, his pay book Part I, his Army discharge book, ration book, three ID cards, various photographs taken in Malaya and Egypt etc, also an interesting Malayan Terrorists hat with red star stitched to the front, removed from the field of battle, a good Kukri and his kit bag.
An interesting example of the 1897 pattern British Infantry officer's sword by D Jones, Deansgate Manchester the blade entwined with Edward VII folding scrollage and Royal coat of arms complete in its leather scabbard and portepee knot. This sword was the property of Colonel Sir Thomas Blatherwick MC, DSO, KCB, JP (1888-1950) Colonel of the East Lancs Regiment and one of the youngest colonels in the British Army. In World War II he was ADC to King George VI and was knighted in 1949. He was born and lived in Knutsford all his life. A photograph of the eminent Colonel wearing this sword is included with this lot together with an interesting letter of provenance from the present family member.

A set of documents and citations relating to Otto Helbing, Cavalry NCO/Sergeant Armoured Troops/Customs Official/Staff Sergeant Anti Tank Troops, comprising citations for Army Long Service Decoration 2-10-36, Shooting Prize issued by Customs Border Police 29-9-41, Customs Service Decoration 31-3-43, War Merit Cross 2nd class 20-4-43, and Iron Cross 2nd Class 15-2-45; RDK book with photos of Helbing and wife showing 4 children between 1932 and 1936; 2 promotion certificates; and 3 other items. GC An interesting lot to an unusual career.
A Third Reich Army photo album, containing approx 174 photos of various sizes from 1937 to 1941, ending with the campaign in Africa. Photos show men, officers, parades, training, weapons, guns, leisure scenes, concerts, campaign in France, anti tank units, captured French troops, and scenes in Africa including personnel in tropical uniform, crashed aircraft, dumps, buildings, etc. Most photos captioned in black ink. Black hard back album has metal Third Reich steel helmet to top left corner and silver painted Meine Dienstzeit to lower right corner. GC (1 small photo missing)
A decorative WWI German commemorative flask, the circular glass body enclosed in a hinged pressed metal outer case with painted cartoons of army life, embossed crossed weapons and flags, one with portrait of the Kaiser, and mounted with 4 rifle cartridges, the screw top in the form of a soldier riding a ram, with coloured hanging cords. A Geo V Indian army officer's mameluke hilted sword, slightly curved flat blade 33", by Rankin & Co Ltd, India, etched with crowned GRI wreath, Royal arms with supporters within scrolled panels, embossed brass crossguard incorporating R Arms, casein grips with 2 rosettes, in its brass scabbard with traces of gilt, with gilt knot and tassel. GC, the blade retaining most original polish (some crazing to grips)

An interesting DB 16 bore Indian Army percussion cavalry carbine, 38" overall, twist barrels 21", with plain bead fore sight, back action locks which extend forward beneath breeches, the plates engraved "Hyderabad Contingent 4th Reg Cavalry", halfstocked with hinged circular steel butt trap, bronze mounts, steel ramrod, sling swivels. GWO & C (stock fractured at locks and badly repaired, ramrod swivel missing, refinished overall)
Colt A fine and rare London retailed .45 Boxer single action army revolver no. 43707 5.50-inch barrel with impressed address Colt's Pt Mfg Co HartfordCT USA. Depot 14 Pall Mall London, (the first part feintly stamped), ejector rod with round head, the black powder frame with 3 line patent dates Pat Sept 19. 1871, " July 2-72, " Jan 19-75, and retaining almost all of its original case hardened finish, loading gate, varnished one piece walnut grip, the blued trigger guard marked 45 CAL B, London Black Powder proof, contained in its original oak case with makers label to the lid, including its original stripping tool, cleaning rod, key and oil bottle, and space for 28 rounds of ammunition. The revolver was built in 1878, appears virtually unused and retains almost all of its original finish. (The bright blue to the barrel and cylinder with minor wear and dull patches). The bore is crisp and bright. Only 729 examples in this calibre were built for the English market, of which as few as 182 are thought to carry the Pall Mall address. For further information see The Colt Peacemaker, British Model by Keith Cochran, 1989.The vendor states that the pistol has been in his family, certainly since the First World War, and possibly from new. It has not been fired for many years.

Richardson, with 2.50-inch chambers, about .25 and .75 choke borings, crossbolt extension, the frame, rebounding barlocks, hammers and top-lever with scroll engraving, 15.25-inch figured stock, nitro proof, together with the Action stock and fore end of an Army & Navy 14-bore bar in wood hammer gun, no. 7827, the frame, stepped rebounding barlocks, short throw hammers and patent top-lever with fine scroll and border engraving and retaining some original hardening colour, dolls head extension, 13.25-inch figured stock 7lb.
