(Military), 1914-1915 Star, 1914-1918 War Medal, Victory Medal, George V Silver Jubilee Medal, George VI Coronation Medal, George V Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, and George VI Army General Service Medal with single bar "Palestine", complete with cloth covered "The Small Book", a selection of paperwork, an Officer`s Commission dated 28th September 1928, a photograph of the gentleman and other correspondence, etc.
A George III 1796 pattern Light Cavalry sword with 32.75ins steel blade and brass hilt with wire bound shagreen grip, complete with brass mounted leather scabbard for same, 38ins overall (blade slightly rusted and leather scabbard damaged), and George V Army Officer`s dress sword by J. Common Jackal (Canus aureus), attributed to Van Ingen & Van Ingen, circa 1920, head mount, turning slightly to the left with open snarling jaw, on a later golden oak shield, 26cm from the wall By repute considered to have been a trophy from the Peshawar Vale Hunt which was formed by the Army in 1870 in Peshawar. Jackals were hunted instead of foxes. The pack was marched up to Kabul during the Second Afghan War and then back to Peshawar

(Brigadier J.V.Faviell R.H.A & Lincolnshire Regt) Together with medal certificates, a copy of a draft of `Memories of an Old Soldier` - an autobiography of his life in the Army from joining in 1917 until retirement in 1950 (not published), photographs, jacket, sam brown, his copy of `Regulations For Release From the Army`, a Pocket Plan of Falakuma Castle, and `The Railway Journeys of my Childhood` by Brigadier John Faviell with inscription. (John Victor Faviell was born in Blackheath, Kent on the 27th Sept 1898, the second son of Charles V. and Maud Faviell. He served with the Royal Horse Artillery during the Great War from 6.10.17, and was mentioned in dispatches. He was promoted to Lieutenant on the 1.2.29 and Captain 1.6.31. He served in Palestine in the Lincolnshire Regtiment and was awarded the M.C, in 1936, followed by promotion to Major 1.8.38. He served throughout the Second World War in the Lincolnshire Regt. He was promoted to Lt. Col. 6.4.45, and Brigadier 3.2.50. M.C L.G. 6.11.36 for Operations in Palestine O.B.E. L.G. 2.6.43 C.B.E. L.G. 1.1.51)
