Companion waistcoat, deep blue cloth, with gilt studs to front, gold Russia braid edging traced inside with braid eyes. Pocket-ornaments with four trefoils. RA full dress uniform tunic ... gold lace bet complete with slings ... 2 sword belt (one ... spurs ... white gloves ... two bullion sword knots ... gilt RA helmet plate with ball and chain ... gilt and OSD bronze cap badges ... buttons ... fly whisk etc all contained in metal storage trunk. Son of Frank Merriman and Mariquita (neé Boyd). Educated at Horris Hill, Winchester College (1898-1902) and Woolwich.#11;1904 -- Obtained commission in Royal Field Artillery. 'Gazetted' Feb 7 1905. April 1911 -- Lieutenant in the British Army, Royal Field Artillery, 84th Battery. Served in India. Lived at a military residence, Belgaum. 1912 -- Transferred to the Royal Horse Artillery. Served in South Africa. August 1914 -- Lieutenant in the British Army, Royal Horse Artillery, J Battery. Served in France. October 1914 -- Promoted Captain. Early 1915 -- Given command of a R.F.A. ammunition column, and later of the 95th Field battery (21st Division). May 12th, 1915, Killed in action.#11;During the Second Battle of Ypres, one of his limbers was ignited by enemy shell-fire. Captain Merriman immediately ordered everyone under cover and ran up to extinguish the fire. He was struck by a shell while so engaged and instantaneously killed

WW2 German Third Reich Army Officer’s Sword by Robert Klass. A good quality example, single edged plain fullered blade with cutler’s details to the forte. The hilt with single bar guard with embossed oakleaf decoration and to the cross guard a German Army eagle with outstretched wings. The black grip with silver twist wire binding is surmounted by a lion head pommel with ruby glass eyes. Complete with original steel scabbard. Retaining leather and bullion sword knot. Wear to the painted finish of the scabbard, gilt dulled, otherwise GC.

WW2 Third Reich Wehrpass Panzer Regiment. This is the Wehrpass of Gunter Bocksch of the 2nd Komp Nachr Abtlg 39 of the 3rd Panzer Division. He was born in 1935 and enlisted into the Army in 1936. The book records his military history and confirms the award of the 1937 Commemorative Medal with Prague clasp, War Merit Cross 2nd Class, Eastern Front Medal and Drivers badge. The books contains a large amount of detail. Official period over stamped to deface the Swastika.

WW1 British 1917 Pattern Small Box Respirator Gas Mask. A rare example of the British Army WW1 issue pattern face mask. Green rubberised canvas with two eye pieces and hose attachment, complete with elasticised head straps and rubber flapper and mouth piece, also canister. The later with service card. The original canvas bag bears maker’s stamp of Waring & Gillow and date 1917 and is the correct pattern, with leather tag and brass button. The bag also with pencil name “Chris Jenson and faint regimental number. The overall condition is good, tube a little stiff .

Steel pommel with “Ross Rifle Co” details. Dated “11/14”. Polished wooden slab grips. Contained in its brown leather scabbard with integral frog. The rear of the frog with faint ink inscription “M.B. Dix ? E Coy 6 Batt 2 C. Brig”. Blade in very clean condition. Believed to have been issued to Private Maurice Buxton Dix a native of Middlesex who enlisted into the Canadian Army on the 24th September 1914 at Winnipeg.

Early 19th Century Officer’s Bullion Sword Knot. An extremely rare example, with narrow gold/crimson plaited cord, worked tassel finial with 15 narrow gold bullions and crimson fringe. One bullion absent, gold elements tarnished. According to Robson,B: Swords of the British Army (Revised Edition) the sword-knots for both Light Dragoons and Hussars from 1822 – 31 were “crimson and gold cord, gold bullion tassel”.

Minor service wear, near VGC. Raised in 1838 as the Cavalry Regt. of the Oudh Auxiliary Force, became 6th Bengal Irregular Cavalry in 1840 and 4th Bengal Cavalry in 1861. In 1890 they became the 4th Bengal Lancers, 4th Lancers in 1903 and known as 4th Cavalry during the war; in 1922 absorbed by 2nd Lancers (Gardner’s Horse).

CEDRIC SHARPLEY DRUM KIT - that was played in the late 70's and throughout the 80's whilst drummer with Gary Numan and The Tubeway Army. Cedric and this kit were responsible for the drum sound that is synonymous with all Gary Numan and the Tubeway Army tracks. It features on videos for their big hits such as "Cars" and was used on all of their tours during the 70's and 80's. This Tama fibreglass kit from c1979 includes a full set of concert toms (6,8,10,12,13,14,15 and 16"), an 18" floor tom (missing bottom rim), a 24" bass drum (missing front hoop), a 14" steel snare, drum stool, snare stand, drum pedal, 3 cymbal stands, 3 tom stands and a hat stand. Includes a letter of provenance from the vendor who was good friends with Cedric.

A Georgian Officer's presentation sabre to the Ross-Shire Militia, 77cm sharply curved blade etched with the Royal Arms, stand of arms floral sprays, maker's panel for Thos Bates Warranted and a scrolling ribbon presentation inscription 'Presented by the permanent non-commissioned officers of the 1st. Regiment Ross-shire Militia to Captn Simon Simpson their Adjutant in testimony of the high sense they entertain of his conduct as an officer & gentleman towards them & the regiment in general', fine quality copper-gilt stirrup hilt, the pierced stirrup guard cast and chased with a lions mask and entwined serpents, shield shaped langets decorated with a mounted cavalryman, fine horses head pommel, the mane flowing down and forming the back strap, gadrooned ferrule, chequered ivory grip, discolouration to the blade. Captain and Adjutant Simon Simpson of the Ross-shire Militia not traced in the Militia Lists of the late 18th and early 19th century. There is, however, a Captain and Adjutant Simon Simpson listed as serving with Fraser's Regiment of Fencible Infantry from 29th November 1794 in the 1796 Militia List (Timpson in some lists) and in the 1810 and 1815 Army Lists on half-pay. Fraser's Fencibles were raised in 1794. The regiment saw active service in Ireland during the Rebellion of 1798, taking part in the battle of Castlebar, 27th August 1798, when a combined force of French Regulars and Irish Auxiliaries under the French General Joseph Amable Humbert defeated a combined force of Irish Militia and Scottish Fencibles.
