Issue #4 of Stroyim (We Are Building), a Soviet photojournalism magazine. Published in 1937. A great issue with portraits of Lenin, Sergo Ordzhonikidze, M Rukhimovich and K Voroshilov, and an article on the Red Army with photos of a victory march and soldiers on horseback. Other photos show a pilot flying a fighter plane and a soldier disguised amongst grass. An article on tanks is accompanied by great photos of tanks, cavalry, soldiers in gasmasks on a war ship and smiling members of the Red Navy. Poor condition, tears, creasing, paper losses, damage and paper loss on the spine. Folded horizontally with cover worn on the fold. Original vintage London Transport poster for Trooping the Colour Horse Guards Parade held on June 9 1937. Design by Barnett Freedman (1901-1958) – features iconic tricolour of red, white, and blue. Printed by The Baynard Press. Trooping the Colour is a traditional ceremony performed by regiments of the British Army since the 17th century; the parade has marked the official birthday of the sovereign since 1748. He served over seas in Malta, Gibraltar, Crete and Egypt, serving with the 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers except for a short period with the Leinster Regiment, 1890-93 He went to the R.H.M. School for military music in 1904 and retired from regular service in 1907. sold with some copied research details.
