REELS (4): An Army navy London 3.5" alloy wide drum grilse alloy fly reel, ivorine handle, rim tension regulator, smooth check, fine an Anderson of Edinburgh by Heaton 3.5" narrow drum fly reel with black handle, brass foot and smooth check, a 2.75" alloy trout dry fly reel with white handle, brass foot and check and a Young`s Beaudex 3.75" diameter fly reel in fine condition with backplate tension regulator and wire line guide in MOB.
ACCESSORIES: Approximately twenty five card packets of sets of hooks to gut including the rare "Basket Packet" in the shape of a creel by Milward`s c1935 and other examples by Allcock, Woodfields, Gamages, A R Rudge & Son, Albert Smith, Army & Navy and Eton and Deller. Plus a box of Harrison`s "Spring Steel Carlisle" hooks. The main box contains ten smaller boxes each bearing Harrison`s trade label and each holding 100-eyed hooks. And a further Allcock & Co box of Kirby hooks to twisted gut containing examples of Kirby`s hooks to gut and other makers with the hooks held in the traditional triangular shaped sleeves.

First World War Mons Star trio with clasp, and memorial plaque 2nd Lieut, Royal Munster Fusiliers, died 27th Aug. 1914.iii). HENRY ERNEST SULLIVAN. First World War trio, A. Major (Lieut. on Star) Princess Patricia`s Canadian Light Infantry. Died 31st Oct. 1917. iv). EUGENE GILBERT SULLIVAN First World War pair, Capt. E. Surrey Reg. Died 8th May 1917. The group is mounted in two "spink" frames with some fading of the ribbons. They also benefit from the inclusion of a large quantity of ephemera. ERNEST FREDERICK SULLIVAN A group of letters to his wife including war time, deploring the devastation and hoping for a good outcome as far as his children are concerned, one letter dated the day his son, Philip died. Letters from The London Necropolis Co. Ltd in relation to his grave no. 193694 at Brookwood Cemetery, Surrey; together with a rubbing of his dedication. Copy extracts of letters to his parents from 1881 to circa 1902. Two cabinet photographs of him as a young officer circa 1885, other images circa 1918, two diaries 1882 and 1883, each outlining military and private activities including sea voyages to and from India. Miscellaneous other including holiday snap-shots. PHILIP HAMILTON SULLIVAN A cased heightened miniature photograph showing Philip in dress uniform. A copy of "The 2nd Munster in France" published 1922, here is outlined the Munsters defence at the town of Estreux, holding back the advancing German army, long enough to allow the main body of the British Army to retreat successfully from Mons. A copy of the story of The Munsters at Etreux, published 1918. Various photographs, some copies including him as a baby, toddler and youth; together with one of his grave. Embarkation document. Notification document appointing him to 2nd Lieutenant. Several letters sent to his mother in sympathy of her loss. `Libri Salomonis` being a book in Latin with the following sections, `Prouerbia`, `Ecclesiastes`, `Canticum Canticorum`, `Liber Saprentiae` and `Ecclesiasticus` printed by `Simonis Colinaei` Paris 1529, second part of the this book being `Machabae Orum Libri Duo` printed by `Simonem Colinaeum` Paris 1526 in two parts, the whole bound in parchment (af), please note the title page is missing the inner page of this book has an ink inscription `Liardet 36th Regiment Malta 1825`. The thirty sixth foot now called the Worcester Regiment was posted to Malta in 1817, an Ensign Frederick Liardet is recorded as having been posted to Malta in September 1823 (see Malta family history, the British Army Garrison in Malta 1799-1827) it is possible that Ensign Frederick Liardet purchased this book from the library of the Knights of Malta.
