New to the market, war souvenir of a member of the British Army who traded cigarettes for the dagger in Germany in 1945.

The blood of our dead has united us and it has sealed our pact (Jose Antonio). The Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista (FET y de las JONS; English: Traditionalist Spanish Phalanx and of the Councils of the National Syndicalist Offensive) was the sole legal party of the Francoist regime in Spain. It emerged in 1937 from the merger of the Carlist Party with the Falange Espanola de las JONS and was dissolved in 1977 by Adolfo Suarez's transitional government. Dynamic design featuring sketched images and military photographs of army soldiers behind the stylised bold red text and the logo in the centre. Good condition, browning, creasing, tears. Unusal Tantalus : A two bottle walnut tantalus inlaid with ebony, mahogany and holly. H29.5cm.According to written note attached to the base, this tantalus was presented to Brigadier Richard Clarence (Herbert) Halse CBE, the first Colonel Commandant Army Legal Corps, by the past and present officers of the Corps at a dinner held at the Duke of York's Headquarters, London on 10 December 1981. The two decanters were engraved by Squadron Leader Peter Pullan DFC of Market Lavington. The badges are those of the Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment (West Surrey) and the Army Legal Corps. Following the death of Brigadier Halse on 6 October 1993 aged 88, his widow, Mrs Sylvia Halse, donated the tantalus and decanters to the Director and Officers of Army Legal Services.
