*Hans Unger (1915-1975) A STAINED GLASS WINDOW DESIGN FOR THE CONVENT CHAPEL PALLOTINE MISSIONARY SISTER'S ROLINDALE, COLOGNE Signed lower, gouache 36 x 27.5cm Born in Prenzlau, Germany, Unger studied graphic art with the poster designer, Jupp Wiertz, in Berlin. In 1936, he emigrated to South Africa, enlisting in the South African Army when the Second World War broke out. Moving to London in 1948, he started working as a poster designer and graphic artist for London Transport and the Post Office. He set up the Vinger Mosaic Workshop with Eberhard Schulze in 1958 and produced mosaics and stained glass windows. This major glassworks produced windows for the Pallotine Convent Chapel in Rolindale, St Columba's Church, Chester and Astley Church in Manchester. *Artist's Resale Right may apply to this lot.

U.S.A', extractor on the right side. Fluted, six-shot cylinder, blued. Case-hardened frame with two-line marking with patents of 1871 and 1875. Single-action in working order. Iron grip straps. Hard rubber grip scales with remains of milling and relieved Colt emblem. Serial number '132xxx' matching on the frame and grip straps. length 27,5 cm.

Frame marked 'CALIBRE / WINCHESTER' and with date '1873' on the left side, address of Merwin, Hulbert & Co. and 'POCKET ARMY' on the right side. Trigger guard and hammer with remains of case hardening. Hard rubber, checkered grip scales. Beak-shaped grip with a hole. Single-and double-action in working order. length 31 cm.
