WW2 Medal and Paperwork Grouping of Driver P G Conners Royal Army Service Corps, the medals consist of 1939-45 star, Africa star with 8th Army clasp, Italy star, France and Germany star, Defence medal and 1939-45 war medal. Medals are accompanied by a selection of original paperwork including two hand written diaries covering the periods of 1943 in Africa / Italy and one for 1945 covering his time in North West Europe, these diaries have short notes detailed regarding his activities and duties. Also amongst the paperwork are various pamphlets and booklets he collected during his service. A number of original snap shot and postcard photographs accompany the grouping, including two shots of knocked out German armour, taken in North Africa.

Many images showing members of family members in various uniforms of the Polish army. The photograph album which accompanies the grouping has a mixture of pre war through to post WW2 images, both military and civilian. Most of the WW2 images seem to have been taken in Italy when serving with Polish II corps. (Large quantity, viewing recommended)

Great Western Railway cast iron warning sign, circa early 20th century, which reads 'Great Western Railway, Warning is given against the dangerous practice of propping up the doors of merchandise trucks for the support of coal weighing machines, for loading or unloading traffic, or for any other purpose the Great Western Railway company give notice that such practice is prohibited, and any person disregarding this caution will be held responsible for injury or damage that may result, James C. Inglis, General Manager', 32cm x 37cm. James C. Inglis was born in Aberdeen on 9th September 1851. He served in the Engineer and Railway Staff Corps, as an unpaid volunteer in the Volunteer Force which provided technical advise to the British Army. He was appointed a Major of that corps on 24th June 1893. Inglis was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel of the Engineer and Railway Staff Corps on 1 April 1908. He was knighted by King George V at St James' Palace on 23 February 1911 by which point he was the General Manager of the Great Western Railway. James Inglis died on the 19th December 1911.
