John Neeld (1805-1878), who was an MP for Wiltshire constituencies between 1835 and 1868, was created a baronet in 1859. The baronetcy became extinct with the death of his younger son in 1944.

The maharajah or Takur Sahib from 1854 to 1870 was Sir Jashwantsinhji Bhavsinhji (1827-1870) of the famous clan of the Gohel Rajputs of Kathiawar.
