A PORTUGUESE TEA URNOf twin handled form, raised on four legs, the shaped square base raised on four bun feet, the detachable cover with a pine cone finial, the front with a tap and with a detachable spirit burner having a turned wooden handle, height 50cm, gross weight 3505 gms Condition Report;; Hinge to lid in good condition, finial probably re-attached underneath, the fitting is very sharp. Wing nuts to base look to be replaced, feet are a little pushed inwards and require straightening.  Possibly something missing from the bottom of the tap. Shallow denting by the side of the bottom of one of the handles.  Urn is not stable on its feet..  One or two small dents to the body.The burner; wooden handle maybe an old replacement and re-rivetted.  The wick adjustment button is not working properly..  Shallow dent to body.This item is probably not working.

A LATE GEORGE II SILVER CREAM JUGOf baluster form, with embossed floral and scrolling decoration, the cast handle with a dog finial, raised on three pad feet, London 1756, weight 147 gmsCondition Report;;  In my opinion, the decoration is probably contemporary with the jug, lead solder to centre of cartouche probably to repair a leak.  One leg is replaced, the other two legs showing signs of repair, evidence of lead solder, few dents to body, definition to body is a bit rubbed.  Black around the edge of the top of one of the legs would indicate a lead solder repair.  Maker's mark not complete to one side

A WILLIAM IV SILVER HOT WATER JUGOf fluted baluster form, decorated with floral reserves, raised on four scroll and scalloped feet and with a foliate capped handle, maker William Hewitt, London 1836, gross weight 904 gmsCondition Report  There are no obvious signs of an erasure, however, there is evidence of solder repair to the  left of the engraved crest near to the border of the cartouche.  There are otherwise a few dents to the body, solder repair below and to the right of the handle and other solder repairs, some of which are lead solder to the body.  Flaw to metal where the spout meets the side of the teapot.  Wind nut is cross threaded, finial to lid is loose and will not tighten.  Handle has been re-rivetted in the past.

AN EARLY GEORGE III SILVER TEAPOTThe body with floral and foliate decoration and with a bud finial to the lid, London 1765, maker Thomas Whipham & Charles Wright, gross weight 581 gmsCondition Report;  Slight weakness to marks underneath, dents to body and thinning, at least four lead solder repairs to the body presumably to rectify leaking.  Handle repaired and strengthened by rivets, insulation to handle with horn? replacements.  Repairs and dents to handle.  Hinge to lid repaired with replacement semi-circular fitting and also old repair within. When held to the light, there are two piercings where the silver has worn through.  Overall rather tired.Finial possibly replacedDecoration; in our opinion the decoration is contemporary.

Hinge good condition. Some wear to the exterior, particularly to the underside. Split to corner of lid on right by the hinge. Weight: 156gmsJug weight 151gms. The jug has a dent to the foot rim and a shallow dent to the body. Repair to top of handle where it meets the rim of the jug. Otherwise good condition. Napkin ring weight: 20gms. Napkin ring is engraved ‘Herman’. Mustard pot and spoon weight: 32gms. Back leg of pot finial not soldered to the top of the lid. The spoon is in good condition.

AN EARLY GEORGE III TEA POT the inverted baluster body with chased and repousse-work flowers around the upper body, and a wrythen finial, by Simeon Coley*, London 1763; 6.3" (16 cms) high; 19.9 oz *An interesting maker about whom not a great deal is known, but he is said to have lived at some time in North America and Jamaica. Born c.1725, Freeman of the Glover's Company in 1773 and first mark entered as a small worker in 1761 and second mark as buckle maker in 1763. His son Simeon (born 1752) married Frances Grigg and died January 1810, leaving £25,000 and both father & son were members of the Moravian Church. Hannah, daughter of Simeon senior married Thomas Northcote (Spoonmaker) and when Thomas died, Hannah entered her mark in continuance of the business. (Grimwade AG: London Goldsmiths & their Marks).

Co., being for the maker Resch Brothers, and with a brass bob to the wood rod pendulum, the two-piece round enamel dial having black Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel spade hands, the walnut and ebonised case having a glazed front door, decorative pediment, canted corners with fluted stops and lower finial to the base, height 118cm.* Biography Resch were founded in Vienna in 1861 before moving to larger workshops in Ebensee in circa 1871 and then sold to Junghans in 1901.

Robert Bullock, Halesworth, a mahogany longcase clock: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell with the fourteen-inch arched brass dial, possibly a later addition, having a raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, Arabic five-minute markings and fleur-de-lys half-hour markings, the dial centre engraved with floral scroll decoration, a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture and maker's name Rob. Bullock, Halesworth, with cast-brass cherub-head spandrels to the four corners and decorative brass hands, the arch having a round silvered boss engraved with an eagle, with cast-brass dolphin spandrels to either side, the rear of the dial having a falseplate embossed with the name of the dialmaker Wilson of Birmingham, the mahogany case with satinwood stringing and inlay to the trunk, base and hood, with a gothic-shaped moulding to the door and inlaid floral and vase decoration to the lower trunk, the hood with a high swan-neck pediment with further satinwood stringing and surmounted by three brass eagle-and-ball finials, the base with canted corners and further inlaid decoration, all standing on bracket feet, height 250cm inc. finial.* Biography Robert Bullock is recorded as working in Halesworth, Suffolk in 1823 and may well be the same maker then recorded as working in Lower Olland Street, Bungay from circa 1830 until circa 1855.
