A 19th century walnut cased mantel clock of large proportions - The brass arched dial with silvered chapter ring and Roman numerals and applied brass floral and figural mounts, the two subsidiary dials in the arch for silent/chime and speed adjustment. The ogee moulded, arched door flanked by two fluted pilasters with leaf carved tops and pedestals and capped by Ionic scrolls and standing on deeply carved foliate feet. The lantern top over a carved broken scroll pediment and surmounted by a turned finial. The movement strikes on five coil gongs. 13 1/2in x 10in x 26in high - almost certainly German - possibly Lenzkirch movement? Lovely quality case, good musical movement , back door locked , pendulum off.

Chips to the flowerhead finial. Rim rubbed. Other box and cover, 8 cm high, painted gold mark to base. Gilt rim rubbed and with losses. Paint also with some rubs. Some pox marks visible in body. Box and cover with metal mounts, approx. 9 cm high, grubby and mounts and have been reattached in the past. Gold line mark to base. Finial grubby and with some small nibbles to flower petals. Scratches and rubs to surface. Pox marks and firing imperfections.
