A Chinese Export porcelain tureen and cover of shaped rectangular form, circa 1800, decorated in the Tobacco Leaf pattern with gilded highlights, with moulded ox handles, height 21cm, width 36cm.Condition Report: There is a small area of loss to the moulded detail on the cover, glaze imperfections to the body throughout, a small chip to the finial on the cover, minor glaze chipping to the foot rim otherwise good.
An 18th century Chinese Famille Rose teapot and stand painted in enamels with floral decoration, with applied floral motifs (2).Condition Report: Losses to the applied detail to the base of the teapot and stand, the stand with a firing fault/crack to the rim, minor chipping to the finial and to the rim of the teapot.
A Japanese Meiji period cloisonné jar and cover of square form, the cover with a finial pierced with leaves, the main body decorated with peacocks inside scrolling detail, height 13.5cm.Condition Report: Slight dent to the finial and a slight dent to the flange of the lid. General tarnishing and some wear to the metal surfaces, nothing serious. Enamel with some imperfections, small hair line cracks to the right hand side of one of the green panels. A few feint hair line cracks to the bottom left of one of the green panels, extending into darker ground area.
A 19th century walnut and stained pine Vienna wall clock with turned pediment above the circular enamelled dial set with Roman numerals, flanked by carved Corinthian columns, height 131cm. Condition Report: The clock appears in fairly good condition with only slight knocks and scrapes, the tip of the top finial has been damaged.

JOSEPH & JOHN ANGELL; a Victorian hallmarked silver claret jug, London 1839, with fruiting vine finial, entwined vine handle and acanthus leaf cast base, London 1839, height 33cm, weight 37ozt/1161g.Condition Report: The claret jug is incomplete, there should be a fruiting vine band going around the widest section of the body and only two sections of this remain, small dents and general tarnishing throughout.

A RARE CHINESE GILDED BRONZE DRAGON-HEAD FINIAL, HENGMOSHIEASTERN HAN DYNASTYCast as a hollow ferocious dragon-head baring its teeth, with flared nostrils and long slender horns, the mane with fine hair markings, the neck with faint incised scales, 167g, 14.5cm.Provenance: the H K Burnet Collection, sold Sotheby’s, 4th April 1941, lot 382 for £11; then the collection of Mark Dineley (1901-75), and thence by descent.Exhibited: the Bradford College Exhibition, 1932, Catalogue no.25.H K Burnet, of 9 Selbourne Villas, Bradford, had an extensive collection of Chinese ceramics, bronzes, archaic jades and works of art. Following his death, his collection was sold by Sotheby’s over three days in April 1941. Burnet lent four pieces to the International Exhibition of Chinese Art, 1935-36, at the Royal Academy, London.An almost identical finial in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, accession no.1992.165.25, donated by Charlotte and John Weber was exhibited: Arts of Ancient China, 2005. Another is on display at the British Museum, room 33, cabinet 6A, no.13. A similar example from the Worch Collection is illustrated with another from the Stoclet Collection by Umehara, Shina-Kodo Seikwa, part III, vol.I, pl.64. The Stoclet finial is also very similar, and was exhibited at the International Exhibition of Chinese Art, 1935-36, at the Royal Academy, London, catalogue no.541. The fitting is also very similar to one excavated from Han tomb No.2 at Ganquan in Hanjiang, Jiangsu province, illustrated in Wenwu, 1981:11, pl.2, fig.5 and p.6 fig.15. Nellie amassed an important collection of Chinese art, part of which was left to the British Museum, and part of which was sold in four sales at Sotheby’s in 1963 and 1964. Large Canton famille rose jug and coverChinese, mid-19th Centurypainted with a court scene of officials and attendants on a temple's terrace, with a painted wide band beneath the cover, and having a gilt lion dog finial, 26cm high Chip on the spout and some old repairs and rivets on the handle. Further smaller losses and wear.
With a decorative fluted bowl inlaid with scrolling silver and gilt damascene type decoration, the rim with islamic script. the finial on an inverted flower shaped mount, with adjustable nose guard and two further mounts, with iron chain mail to the back and sides. The interior with apparently original padded crimson lining. 38cm high, 27cm wide *Condition: light surface rust to chain mail and rubbing to decoration and areas of loss to decoration, interior distressed.
With a brass hexagonal spike finial with four flower-head mounts and South Wales Borderers Helmet Plate with Queen's crown above an eight-pointed star, with brass chin strap on floral mounts, with green lining with brown leather band, 25cm high, 26cm front to back. Finial is loose/detached. Lower part of the lamp has become detached. Repairs with sellotape. One of the coloured panels is missing. Losses to other panels. Some marks and scratches.
An impressive George IV silver cup and cover, London, 1828, Hyam Hyams, the twin handles designed as horns of plenty to a campana-shaped body with gilded interior, the fluted lower section decorated with repousse flowers and foliage, the upper with a floral garland against a textured ground, the cup raised on a pedestal foot and engraved with coat of arms, the cover with a shaped floral and foliate scroll border surmounted by an associated flower finial by Paul Storr, approx. 29cm high, approx. weight 40.4oz Condition Report: The cup with cover is in good condition commensurate with age. Some minor surface scratching, nicking and pitting noted. Light wear to gilded interior. Hallmarks clear. Decoration in good condition. No damage or repairs noted. Steady on foot. Slightly darker tone to gilding under cover. Rose finial is an associated example by Paul Storr. Some small dings and bruising to inner rim of cover. Cover sits slightly loose and wobbles a little. Engraved crest to lid.

A Höchst fayence Rococo tureen, cover and stand, c.1750, the stand with black wheel/G. mark, the tureen moulded with a pendent rocaille border and painted with loose bouquets of flowers, painted in Schwarzlot with landscape panels within moulded cartouches beneath the handles, on four foliate scroll feet, the domed foliate cover with a scrolling upturned flower finial, the shaped oval stand similarly moulded and decorated, R.G. Vater Collection no. 578 (paper collection label attached to the interior of the cover), Clampanan (?) Collection label (possibly dating from the 19th century) attached to the interior of the cover, the stand - 40cm wide Provenance: The Robert G. Condition Report: There are numerous glaze chips in areas overall to the tureen, cover and stand, mostly to the edges. The tip of the flower finial to the cover is missing. The top edges of the tureen handles with some small nibbles. The base of the tureen with a 'cross' fracture visible both inside and out and further smaller fractures radiating from this. Losses to the tips of the feet. Tiny pin prick glaze spots to the interior and underside of the tureen. The stand with nicks to the rim in places and small (approx 2cm) repair to the rim.

Vater Collection of European Ceramics.Footnotes: Note: An example of this model is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (museum no. 1982.60.294).Condition Report: There are restorations/overpainting overall which include: the roof of the pagoda is lacking the finial and the openwork structure has been restored to all four sections. Repairs to the fruiting swags of the roof and three black ball finials to the roof edge are missing and other some others are restored back into place. The figure standing inside the pagoda with a restored right hand.The lattice fence of the pagoda on the right side by the long steps into the upright has been repaired. The figure holding a basket has a repair to the top of his hat. The figure playing a stringed instrument has a restored tassel to his turban hat, a repaired left hand and repairs to the instrument. A section of fence is missing besides this figure on the step edge.The right ankle/foot of the last standing figure has been restored.The curved fence on the base is missing one finial, has repairs to the remaining finials and the upright pole nearest the steps. The low scroll fence at the back of the base has a large chip. The rockwork base and other leaf/melong elements with small nicks and repairs. There is a firing crack to the base by a section of fence dating from the time of manufacture.
