A fine early 19th century ebonised cased bracket clock (in 18th century style); the brass finial above 4" silvered dial signed Denne, Lambs, Conduit Street, London, the dial with subsidiary seconds hand and with Roman numerals, the arch cornered by engraved foliate spandrels, the gilded movement also signed Denne, London and with a single fusee, raised on gilt-metal bun-style feet (23cm high) The case veneers dome top is cracked, lifting case has minor scratches and edge wear, the movement appears to be working.
A late 19th/early 20th century Chinese hardwood tobacco jar carved in the shape of a cloaked gentleman with wide-brimmed hat, of good colour and patination (16cm highest point to tip of finial x 14cm wide)The cover is in the shape of a hat has minor scuffing to the edges of the hat on the top which would probably polish out. A very minor chip away from the edge (see image). The actual main body has a nice colour and very heavy in the hand. Quite dusty and dirty and quite a lot dust in the carving. Generally good overall with a couple of minor match head sized chips to the inside of the rim (see image). Some very thin hairlines emanating from the base going into the middle of the body approx. 4/5 which probably would polish out.
Three late 19th/early 20th century turned ivory auctioneer's gavels (the largest 16.5cm, the miniature gavel 5cm) The condition of the larger of the three gavels - the ball neck has a small hairline crack just below the gavel head and there are two surface cracks to the lower part of the handle just before the finial (see images.) The middle sized gavel has cracks to both faces of the gavel head and the centre of the gavel head and the handle has old rivet repairs to the handle. The small novelty gavel appears to be in good order.
