Subsequently in the Polonnaise Room, afterwards called the Flying Duchess' Room at Woburn Abbe;, thence by descent until sold By order of the Trustees of the Bedford Estates and members of the Russell family, Christie's, on the premises, Woburn Abbey, 20 September 2004, lot 22.The present canopy is recorded as "A neat canopy with gadrooned cornice carved middle and corners with pineapple at top - at top - £4 15s 0d and hangings £25 12s 6d". The gadrooned window pelmets in the State Saloon and the Reynolds Room at Woburn are presumably by the same makers. The firm was extensively patronised by the 4th Duke and Duchess of Bedford, from 1765 until 1783. ++Top board replaced, the interior lining now of white cotton, lacking pineapple finial
