An 18th century tulwar hilted Indian sword, very slightly curved broad blade 33”, with narrow back fuller and double edged at point, traces of studded device on one side near forte, solid iron hilt with long langets, stud finials to crossguard, knucklebow with bird’s head finial, flat disc pommel with radial lines to top, rounded pommel with point, in a later dark blue velvet covered scabbard. Basically GC for age (worm overall).

A French 48 bore flintlock sidelock pocket pistol, c 1770, 7" overall, round tapered barrel 3", the plain rounded lock having swan neck cock, the dark walnut fullstock having carved panels around the lock and mounts and scrolls behind the barrel tang, the steel mounts include long spurred buttcap, flat sideplate and trigger guard with urn shaped finial. GC (slightly worn overall with light pitting to metalwork, the action AF).
An early 19th century 20 bore Turkish flintlock holster pistol, 17½” overall, barrel 11¼” overlaid with silver scrolls, stylised foliage, stars and date (?), the flat lock and cock engraved with stars and crescent and spurious maker’s name, fullstocked with brass mounts also engraved with stars and crescents. A large Japanese sectional ivory and bone Buddhist shrine, by Yushu/Hirokata, early 20th century, the densely carved and incised temple-like structure centered by a pair of hinged reticulated double doors, opening to reveal within a seated Buddhist triad in front a ritual offering on a stand, supported on a high-stepped, balustraded and galleried octagonal base, engraved with writhing dragons and lotus leaves, the roof surmounted by a finial in the form of a Amida Nyorai seated in meditation with his hands in dhyana mudra, signed on the base in a red-lacquer reserve Yushu/Hirokata, 76.5cm x 33.5cm

A Chinese bronze ceremonial Buddhist ritual bell, Ghanta, Zhengde mark and probably of the period (1506-21), the copper bronze handle of the bell cast with the face of Buddha wearing an eight-foliate crown, supporting a band of lotus petals and surmounted by a vajra-form finial, attached to a domed-shaped bell cast in relief with lotus petals each containing a Sanskrit mantra, above a band of Buddhist symbols interspersed by masks and beaded swags, the borders with vajra symbols, the interior of the bell cast in relief with the vertical six character mark 'Da Ming Zhengde Nianzhi', 19cm highCompare a similar ghanta but with a Xuande mark sold by Christie's, Convention Hall, Hong Kong, 'The Perfect Countenance - Fine Buddhist Works of Art', 31 May 2017, Lot 2809.
