A Royal Worcester Gilt Monogrammed Plate, retailed by Waring & Gillow, Oxford St London, two Wedgwood gilt and blue plates and a further plate painted with flowers and butterflies;early XIX Century Pearlware blue and white pottery teapot, with concentric circles to handle (lid repaired, finial absent). (5)
A pair of 18th Century gilt bronze casters with pierced bayonet fitting covers and knop finials on stepped circular bases, 22.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Description should more accurately read "near matching pair" as there are small differences in construction. One with pierced top in three sections with finial sitting on a separate circular foot over the actual pierced shaker raised on a base with two lugs holding the top to the rim of the base, raised on a circular foot with flattened base. The other with top in two sections with finial sitting on integral top section and shaker with one lug broken and section missing the base raised on a slightly raised foot with slightly different banded decoration to the other - see images for comparison and further detail. The piercing with small areas of damage, though without any apparent restoration - see images for further information. Height slightly different: the piece with integral circular section to the top being slightly shorter as top appears to be depressed from finial downwards. Measures 22.5 cm and 21.5 cm high respectively. Both pieces with wear to the gilding throughout conducive with age and use and main bodies of pieces with denting and surface scratching throughout, again, conducive with age and use
A Chinese Qianglong punch pot, polychrome decorated with panels of floral sprays within a scaly ground, the lid with peach finial, the spout and handle of branch form, raised on a circular foot, 22 cm high including lid and finial CONDITION REPORTS Lid with various losses to rim, and filler and re-painting, and some repairs to finial, teapot handle broken off and re-glued and with filler and re-painting around that side of the body and to the handle, and also re-painted to interior where handle has been re-attached and with filler in these areas. Overall general wear and scuffs, and some rubbing to decoration. General wear and tear throughout
A Victorian/Edwardian silver three piece tea set of oval bellied form with embossed decoration comprising teapot, twin-handled sucrier and milk jug (by Atkin Brothers, Sheffield, 1901), 17 cm high, approx 35 oz CONDITION REPORTS Handle is loose, ivory bands are cracked, lid is loose on the hinge and finial is again loose. All over various scratches, scuffs and marks. Spout is dented, sugar bowl has some blemishes to the sides, some light scratches and scuffs and is slightly wobbly on foot. Cream jug has various light scratches, scuffs, small dents to a couple of places to the body and is also slightly wobbly on foot. All items various general signs of wear and tear throughout.
A 19th Century Chinese cloisonné bowl and cover, the light blue ground with foliate decoration and turned brass finial, the ovoid body with ram's head handles, raised on three legs as ram's heads, bears four character Kaishu mark (possibly for Jiaquing), 14 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The finial has been off the cover and re-applied and is rather wonky, possibly not the original. There is some damage to the cloisonné directly under this. One of the handles has been off the body and appears to have been re-applied - again damage to the cloisonné around this area. There is a dent approximately 2 cm in diameter on he main area of the body resulting in loss to the cloisonné. the other handle is secure but again there are losses near it. all feet are loose and beside one, again, there are losses to the cloisonné. There are pinhead faults to the enamel work all over and on the lid, the three roundels have no cloisonné in them whatsoever - unsure if this was intended or has happened since. There is some enamel residue to the inside of the pot. Has general wear and tear conducive with age and use to include surface scratches etc. In need of a clean - see images for further details
A 19th Century mahogany banjo barometer and thermometer with conch shell marquetry inlay, the brushed steel dial marked "P. Caminada", 96 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Unknown if working. The hands seem very loose and there is discolouration throughout. Some of the wood is lifting slightly. Various knocks, chips etc throughout and looks as though the pediment has been off as has the ivory finial. Several large scratches all over especially to the bottom section of the barometer. The cover to the back sticks and needs re-hanging. The silver dial has various scratches particularly around the '29' and the screws. There is some chipping to the glass. Knocks, chips, cracks, etc all conducive with age and use - see images for further details
A 19th Century rhino horn pointer of tapering form, the handle as carved ivory hand clasping leaf, 43 cm long, 22.7g total weight CONDITION REPORTS There are some dents and wear to the tip and some areas of dirt, spotting, dents etc conducive with age and use. The finial at the end is a possible replacement due to to the fact there is a carved space between that and the beginning of the stick. The finial itself has a chunk missing from the end. Generally dirty. Approx 2 cm in circumference at the top of the stick and 1 cm at the base. Has general wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details
A 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved ivory pot and cover, the cover decorated with prowling tiger with seated tiger finial, the main body decorated with three various tigers with two carved and stained beetle symbols to the base and a similar carving to the underside of the cover, 15 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Basically sound condition. Seated tiger finial to top loose and removable. Top with cracking - see image. Peg mark to top with carved and stained insect to the underside to disguise peg. Several small cracks to the bottom edge. Base with two carved and stained insect motifs, one to hide two peg marks, one insect partially covered with old paper label - see images for further information
A George III mahogany cased stick barometer with mercury thermometer and silvered dial, the level inscribed "Galward Hitchin", 100 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The pediment appears to be missing finials on the scrolls - unknown if working. The mother of pearl button has damage to the centre and is messy. The level at the bottom appears to be missing, possibly the glass. It doesn't sit quite right and the brass finial appears to be a replacement. The brassed dial has some surface scratching. The glass cover has some browning to the bottom. The back door is broken at the base, the mercury has air bubbles and appears to be dried. One of the tubes appears to be smashed at the top. Has general wear and tear, surface scratches, discolouration, dirt etc throughout. There is a pin at the top of the barometer dial casement which does not appear to be original although has been there some time - see images for further details.
